You simply don't want a World Cup to be held on a continent whose footballing nations were horrendous in the previous World Cup. And besides, the USA moving on to play Brazil, where we would be eliminated, would not generate as much interest as you expect. Having an African nation make waves in this tournament is only good for FIFA and their up coming 2010. Like I said, FIFA has survived without the US for years; I'm sure they can survive without us in the future.

Did asian teams do well in France 98? I dont remember

Toni - Pippo is the ultimate partnership, Toni as a target man and Pippo as a hitman is fatal.
Bingo!

Toni and Pippo would be perfect. If Toni fails to hit the back of the net, he at least hits the post, and the best "in off the post" guy in the world is Inzaghi.

Pippo missed some chances today but it was clear that he electrified the team. He was great and even got on the score sheet, and therefore deserves a start. However, if players got what they deserved, Totti would be sent home. He fucking sucks. If I had my way he would never again play for Italy, he is pure shit.

Nick - I thought you were at the game today. After the Materazzi goal, there was a shot of the Italia faithful and I saw a dead ringer for Bobo Vieri in an azzurri jersey (2 rows behind a girl with an inflatible kangaroo). I thought, "Holy shit, he does look like Vieri".

Asian and African teams are not very good, and in my opinion, Asian teams should not be allowed to play.

Thats my opinion too.

Sorry for the loss today. I wanted you guys to go through along with Italy

Meh, I like that Ghana went through though, they played hard, and I think they deserve it.

I will pull for them in the latter rounds, second behind Germany probably.

The way we played against the Czechs to me showed that we did not deserve to go through.

I want Guus at the head of the US National Team.

Isn't Quebec a bit far from Germany?

He attended the USA-Italy match. He lives outside of Torino and I believe he is in Germany at the moment
His IP says he's in Quebec though; maybe he asks someone in Canada to use his account. Could he have a Darryl and Darryl?
