I will laugh my ass off as well and I will laugh my ass off twice if England does not qualify.
I just got home from soccer practice and I just watched Sky Sport News. England lost to Northern Ireland.

 Hahahahaa

I will be the happiest man alive if England does not qualify for this World Cup. Haha, the supposed "favorites" don't even qualify. That would be a dream come true. :howler:

a relief, we won 8-0 vs the baker of San Marino and his friends. Useless, but still, 8-0 is sweet.
That sucks I love San Marino...and don't even compare Belgium to the great Republic. From its famous founder Marinus to its own coins and stamps what is there not to love about the hill above Rimini. :cheesy:

Dream come true?? I understand your sentiments but in reality it would suck. I think it would be a shame not to see players like Owen, Gerrard, Beckham and Rooney play in the 'tournaments of tournaments' ... some are at their prime and it would be a blow for the tournament.
However, they didn't qualify a mere 11 years ago at the 94 World Cup and it was still a kick-ass World Cup.

We would still have the likes of Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Holland, Czech Republic, France, Serbia, Portugal, Germany, and above all the United States. In 2002 we missed Holland and the Czechs, IMO a greater combined loss than England. Every World Cup is going to be kick-ass if you're country is playing in it and doing well.

True in relation to the last line however, the Italy of 94 despite its success was not the most exciting team to watch. Besides watching Maldini and Costacurta take the reigns after Baresi's injury the offense was lacklustre save for Baggio's 'outbursts' (goals)....The offense was non-existent versus Brazil and the return of Baresi locked Brazil down for 120 minutes...

I'm still hoping for England to make it despite the sh*t they sometimes throw at the Italian game...2005 was my appreciation of all things English, a result of my trip to London which exceeded my expectations and the Liverpool fans in Istanbul whom I traded scarfs with after the game...

Hey, if we have an average Group Stage I expect to finish at least second. After that it will depend on the draw, just like all these underdog countries such as the US in 2002 and Croatia in 1998...if the draw is kind anything is possible. We are not as experianced as we were in 2002, however we are certainly quicker and our two most important players Donovan and Beasley have improved greatly over these past four years. I consider our defense to be stronger this time around with Onyewu taking the spot next to Berhalter, and our midfield is as strong as ever with Reyna and Armas healthy, along with our two most important players. Personally, I think we are stronger this time around.

I am expecting at least a second round appearance, however the Quarterfinals would be nice again as well. In 2002 we were playing great football and if the ref would have given us a penalty for the Frings' handball anything could have happened, so if we play just as well as we did in Korea we have a decent chance to surprise everyone again.

Dude, I fell in love with Italian football in 1994 watching the Bulgaria match...that tournament was when I first started watching soccer on TV. Without the Azzurri in 1994 I might not even be here typing on this forum right now...they had that much of an effect on me in my football preferences and likings. Along with the US of course, Italy became my two favorites in the world of soccer.

As for England not making the Finals....it would not be very disapointing to me, obviously, however the millions of soccer fans here in the States who love English football would be very disappointed. The England lovers make up the majority of the glory-hunting football population in the United States, so there would be a lot of sad faces if England indeed misses out. I doubt it will happen, though.

I was at that game..I remember it well...I was sitting third row behind the corner ... second half Pagliuca was leading us into cheer ....

I attended every Italy game that year except the First versus Ireland and the Final against Brazil.
