40e mils for neymar? go for it :)...4,5 mil salary ? why not?...he's the greatest u21 talent that brazil has. He has all what it takes to be a great ss
Yeah, a 4,5 million salary for 19 year old Brazilian who may just have attitude issues and/or trouble adapting abroad. I don't see how that could go wrong.

If we do sign him and Piazon then whats to become of the latter?

I would expect Neymar to develop into our SS for a long time to come so where would Piazon fit into this "Project".

Unless we're switching to a 433 permanently :drill:

Before Secco we only gave out top salaries to proven top players.

Moggi - to quote a popular guy - certainly wouldn't have given that money to Neymar. In fact he would laugh in the face of someone who suggested it.

Well, then, we're not the right team for this lad and he's not the right man for this team. He can go to Man city or Chelsea and enjoy the nightlife in England :pado:

I completely agree with these comments.

You say this like we've never had players who commanded a high salary before.
Not a 19 years old, and definitely not for someone who never played European football before. Personally, I'm a fan of the old Juve school, scouting and bringing players like Platini, Del Piero and Zidane for low fees. Gradually, and depending on their performances, they can ask for a significant pay raise.

Well, I don't remember Moggi spending much money for any young talents, so that's not surprising.

Except for mediocre Uruguayans, of course.

Not of fan of that sort of methodology from Moggi.

Thats how it should be.

Times are a changing in football. It's a bit difficult to go back to that route when these sort of players are already snapped up by the bigger clubs. Plus it's difficult to find such players anyway.

I'm still getting the vibe that not too many people have seen this kid play.

Those days are long since gone.

Welcome to the world of the internet and viral vidoes, and sky sports, ESPN, Fox, all over the world.

The Platini, DelPiero, and Zidane are long since gone, because there wasn't nearly as much information available to them back in those days.

What do you mean, finding players on the cheap and developing them into amongst the worlds greatest?

No doubt about that. Too much money in football these days. If Zizou was 22 now he'd be going to Arsenal in the summer.

We need to take a different route, that based on nurturing youth, if we want to compete. The good old days were nice and we won a lot under the Moggi plan, but those days are not coming back unless we adapt to the new environment in football.

Palermo signed Kjær, Pastore, Ilicic, Cavani and Hernández. Napoli signed Hamsik and Lavezzi. Fiorentina signed Jovetić. Udinese signed Zapata and Sanchez.

We can do it but with a good balance signing other established players in case the youngsters aren't ready yet. Being patient and giving youngsters a chance to shine.
