@Osman Yup, that's what i thought of soon as I saw it.

iirc what happened with Brandon was a squib load. Gun was fired previously but the bullet remained stuck in the barrel. When it was later fired on set with a blank in the chamber, stuck bullet still somewhere in the barrel, it functioned...

Using a real firearm for movies seems like a dumb idea altogether imo
