It's a genius and extremely efficient business model and it's really stupid to go on a strike against that. I want the service that I get to be as fast and cheap as possible, Uber gives me that. If governments had banned every smart superior idea to support the inefficient inferior ones, most of what we are conveniently using today wouldn't have existed.
I get the convenience of the customer. But it also puts a spotlight on how corrupt the taxi licensing business is and how much of a scam it can be for funding local governments.
