That's just the federal tax. States have their own taxes too. If you are living in California for example, you could get taxed upto another 13% or so depending on how much you earn (I might be a little off on the numbers)

Lol. Yeah, but in a broader perspective we live longer and fight less. There is better health, more wealth and less violence. I see that as advancing.

I think school does advance us in a sense. It needs to be broader though, less aimed at passing exams Etc and more practical and or accepting of alternative learning and alternative outcomes. I think we learn the most in school not doing the subject work but rather communicating with each other and or your teachers. Debating Etc. Whatever the topic may be.

We do. And we often think school or work is why enter into debates with each other. But the truth is we always and always will. Institutions like school and work are about to die out however. And not a moment too soon.

Not sure they will die. School equips us with tools needed to do many thins but we need more freedom within that. This is not to say we can't get those tools elsewhere. But still. It's useful having them in a pretty accessible place for most people.

I am paying off last years tuition debt, in september I will be going back to finish off the last semester of my degree. So soon time, I will be a teacher here in Canada. Having studied in the education department, and having wasted a shit ton of money for nothing, i can assure you that the education program (both the one that forms educators, and the one with program studies for the youths) need serious reforms, even a country like Canada is lacking significantly.

Depends on your income level and where you live. I make $25,000 a year before taxes, after them I have $18,738.72.

Yep, after everything. And then of course there's the tax return later, but I have no idea how much that'll be since I've never made this much. Also this is all probably affected by my Dad claiming me.
