The question is what can they do about it? So what they fine the FA, what does that do for the fans? I think uefa should specify other action besides paying a fine, like how much the FA has to spend on anti racist campaigns and stuff like that, with a fine they just lose money and most of the fans probably don't even know.

But you know Torkel, I realized something I like a lot about Carew, he has character and inner discipline, he doesn't get into fights, he doesn't make unfair accusations to make himself look good. Not to suggest everyone else does but still.. commendable. He was also apologetic after the Bosnia game for the incident.

I get your point, I just think that something should be done. Even if a fine towards the FA hurts the FA the most, it sends a message to the fans, and it indirectly hurts the fans too in some way.

And yeah, Carew's a pretty good guy. Nice of him to admit he was wrong with the gestures.
Of course, you should have given John more praise a long time ago ;)

I've been too hard on him at times. :) He's been a star most of his career and he grew up fast, not everyone does.

And if there was a guy from my town playing in Serie A, about my age, I'm sure I would be excited about that too. ;)

Just a short follow up on the Bosnia match, Norway will file a complaint after the racist chants against John Carew, and I hope action will come because of it.
Really? What kind of chants were they? I didnt notice anything, but then agains I didnt see the whole game, and if it is true I really hope that it will never happen again, as that is truly repulsive behaviour.

In a small country like this, it could well be Hammerfest and it would still be the same :D;)

Racist calls and monkey noises, as you said disgusting behaviour. Similar incidents appeared in the Macedonia-England game I believe.

After they shouted at Carew he made some obscene gestures towards the Bosnia fans, that's why he was taken off. He apologised for the gestures today.

Yeah he probably was wrong with the hand gestures, but that shit should have never happened. As a representative for the Bosnia and Herzegovina fans I want to apologize for that kind of unacceptable behaviour and to assure you that the FA nor the fans in general approve of racism. Of course, you can never control every indivudual, but 99% of the fans dont condone that kind of behaviour. I am truly sorry.

Ummm you mean they don't condone it right? It's good to know that it's only a very small selection of fans who behave like that... it's sad how they don't know who the real idiots are, to treat a fellow human being like that because of the colour of their skin is just disgusting (especially *ahem lazio* treating your own team's players like that, no matter how well they play for your team, it's great to see all the Juve fans holding up pictures of Edgar and how everyone loves Thuram and Appiah)

And another thing about Carew : belongs to Sienna now :groan:

Fabiana, I am really excited to see Argentina, my favourite South American team, too, but I haven't got the chance. Y-day I've even lost the resumees for Czech Rep and Holland :wallbang: on ESP. Anyway, as I've heard they've made 2-2 with Chile, goals Veron and ... somebody :). Is that true ?

Well, while the match Bosnia-Norway was on TV (and I was ... forget what I was doing :D ) the commentators said that John Carew was transferes to the new-promoted Sienna, so this means his belonging to Valencia is history now :)
