I really hope so, I'd encourage anyone to watch her 15 min speech, smashed every point not just saying why people shouldn't vote for trump but why people should vote for her, I don't think I've heard her speak this well before.

Yes and no. Sometimes it's easy to conflate presentation with content. He was great on presentation and looked good for the cameras. But his content had some gaps.

For example, that kid was nothing close to the profile you'd match for some foreign terrorist threat. So it's a little disingenuous to suggest that since there was a higher foreign adversary threat to Trump, that should fit the same profile to the protocols you follow for a 20-year-old loner school shooter. They aren't the same.

And he pressured her on giving him the same level of SS detail you'd give an existing president. But Trump is not a standing president. He wasn't even the standing nominee for the Republican Party until a week later.

The rest, yeah, there were some serious gap failures. But as much as she was called out for being a DEI hire, she's been in the ranks since 1995 and even was on the SS team for President Obama. So it's not like she doesn't know the SS and was just randomly dropped in a few years ago applying to a want ad.

So my internal conspiracy bells aren't going off. Seems more like complacency and incompetence.

The problem with Vance is mostly that he doesn't really stand for anything.

That was already a major problem for Trump. He doesn't really have a true ideology (remember he donated to Democratic candidates in the past) and he just tries to go with the flow. Often without having any real knowledge of whatever subject he's talking about. Mostly it seems his speeches boil down to "Democrats bad". They've added to that with Vance, whose biography definitely reads like that of a man who'll say and do whatever if it benefits him.

What Vance has going for him is that, unlike Trump, he does have real personal achievements to his name. He served as a marine, he graduated Yale Law School, he wrote a best seller. You can make of him what you want, but those are not easy things to achieve. The people who care about stuff like that are not going to vote for Trump though.
