So fox news line of attack on kamala Harris today was showing a compilation of her laughing and claiming that it would put voters off. I mean.... fucking really

I don't know what he can do really. I keep reading how it's Trump's race to lose and that he'll definitely win the presidency, but I just don't see how.

Trump has no room for growth whatsoever. There's a lot of potential loss though. If it isn't for the documents case, it might be because he tried to steal the elections or it might be because he's trying to dismantle core democratic principles. Some might even remember he was a horrible president. I mean, he did suggest injecting bleach against Covid. As a woman you can't vote for him unless you're a deranged lunatic, because the dude is a rapist. Young voters are tired of him, because they've seen this old orange man shout for 8 years straight and they don't like his position on abortion.

Harris on the other hand is young, female and a former DA. She knows what she's talking about when it comes to crime and even if she's a tad unremarkable, she does not come of as somone who makes ill informed decisions. Even without having spent much time in the spotlight, polls show her score better than Biden and closer to Trump. And then there's the possible debate. Trump can't refuse, because it makes him look even weaker and older than he does already. But he can't accept, because he knows he'll do poorly.

Polls might show a Donald Trump victory today, but it's only a matter of time before the tables turn.

So just found out from someone that the Heritage Foundation, the Christian Fascist scumbags who run Project 2025, are in part funded by Russia. This isn't a surprise.

But also the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

That's good news because maybe if MAGA knows this they will reject it. They hate Bill Gates.
Some unholy alliances for sure, But remember: Putin is all about the family.

And even I hate Bill Gates. I detest the guy. I don't think he's trying to put microchips in vaccines, but I never fell for his philanthropic makeover. People forget that Google's old motto of "Don't be evil" was essentially "Don't be Bill Gates."

I just didn't know that he was using his investments to prospect targets for sexual harassment.

Politics is such a corrupt, two-faced, loathsome enterprise. I know it's necessary. But it seems to bring the worst out of people most of the time.

You would certainly hope that Harris can turn the tide, any sane person who enjoys the freedom of democracy has to vote Harris, the things within project 2025 if anything is very scary and completely undemocratic, Trump will make himself into a dictator protected by his own appointed people forever. I can't even believe Americans have allowed Trump to get this far, it's like everyone is sleepwalking into a dictatorship. Harris has to go full speed on the offensive now.

Politics are nasty, but I'd say they are a lot more subtle in Europe.

The directness of ad hominem attacks in the US would be considered crude here. It wouldn't even be about concent. If someone were to grap a soapbox and start insulting his opponents the way Trump does, he wouldn't be taken seriously on form alone. It's just not done in the confines of a European society. The English, because of their two party system, are probably most similar. But even then Boris Johnson is as far as they're willing to go. People like Nigel Farage are only taken seriously depending on the subject. And Farage's most evident ad hominem was 'No more Guy Verhofstadt' (which was entirely justified). The personal lives of politicians matter less over here as well. Mitterand's "Et alors?" comes to mind of course. This too takes pressure off of politicians to be perfect in every single way.

TBH, I'm into civility. And when you do a opponent diss, an elegant and pointed one is far better to me than calling for someone to be beheaded. Playground amateur crap turns me off. I'm not sure why that flies in America as it does not here.

Meanwhile, right now there are rumors flying around the U.S. that Biden is in hospice and died overnight. Sometimes I wonder if America should be part of the Balkans.

Jokes aside, I'd be surprised if Biden lives another two years.

The mental decline is there, but I think it's a bit overstated. Yes, he mixes up names and it sounds funny. But at the same time he can still talk specifics about foreign policy, which is never an easy subject. To me it's the physical decline that is glaringly obvious. There's a lot of muscle wasting going on, his balance is gone and the way he moves might be old age but it definitely looks like Parkinson's as well. I think it's likely that he was holding on to life because he was running for president, but with that motivation gone I wonder how he's going to hold up the next couple of months.

Does it have to be a mixed gender pair for P and VP, or is that just more palatable for the masses? Presume two women wouldn't gain enough traction?
Yeah I think the idea is to “balance” the ticket so shouldn’t be a female or black. Although it seems like Whitmer is in the running too so :boh:

It’s not. Dem senate candidate in AZ is up in the polls constantly.
That's not what I heard at least from what I understand it would be easier to win Penns than Arizona

Just watching Kamala Harris' first rally, the way she speaks is so on point, day and night from the shit waffle of how Hannibal is a great American and conspiracy theories.

She's going to win.

It has been years and years since there was a normal candidate.

I mean it’s not a lost cause based on how Ruben Gallego is polling.
Fair enough I'll take your word on it

I really hope so, I'd encourage anyone to watch her 15 min speech, smashed every point not just saying why people shouldn't vote for trump but why people should vote for her, I don't think I've heard her speak this well before.

Certainly beats a 90 min rambling of a convicted felon.

And this is meant to be Trump's running mate? this will not end well for this Trump clone.
