Yes.

But you can call someone who is pro abortion a murderer as a form of hyperbole. That is, in reality, how it has been used by the pro life movement.

Killing a baby that is already born is a different category entirely. That would constitute straight up actual murder. I don't think anyone who is in their right mind believes Harris, as a former DA, has no issues with killing children. Accusing her of infanticide reeks of desperation.
Not the first time Trump (and I believe some other Republican) has made this claim. Harris just happens to be the new target who's being accused of it.

It’s a Trump rally. They cheer for him even if he says Harris has 5 penises.
Well, yes, but I think Trump fails to realise that he doesn't really need to convince the people at his rallies. With the exception of the guy who tried to assassinate him, those people are already voting for him.

In the past he used these rallies for bullshit theories as well, but they were kind of credible. Think about 'Crooked Hillary'. In hindsight everything he said is kind of ridiculous, but at the time Clinton didn't exactly come across as a trustworthy figure. It's not credible that Harris kills or condones killing babies that are already born. No one with an ounce of intelligence is going along with that.

They have generally referred to late term abortions.

Which are not a thing either. But it's still a lot different from killing an actual living born baby.

Even if it's not a new claim this is not a winning strategy though. You'd have to be insane to think it's plausible Democrats are out there killing babies. And there are only so many crazies to go around. Feed too many crazies, lose a lot of normies. That's how it works.

It's not about abortion.

Trump said Harris wants to kill babies after they are born.
The weird thing about Trump is he's been wired to believe that the more outlandish things he says to be controversial, the more people loved him.

But I'm wondering if he's hitting systemic limits now beyond his base.

The more he says even crazier sh*t, and the more his army posts slut-shaming doctored photos of Kamala, the more it's going to hurt him with the people he still needs to convince.

There comes a threshold where anyone who sees or hears that starts to go, "Ick. I'm not that." Maybe they vote for RFK Jr. But they are going to hesitate throwing themselves in with that lot.

Yeah, I don't see how he wins over new support beyond his base with that.

Yeah, I don't see how he wins over new support beyond his base with that.

It's exactly this. He has been going further and further down that rabbit hole the past few years, but he has been losing people along the way. Maybe there is more fervor among his regular supporters. Maybe he riles up people at rallies. Maybe they make a lot of noise. None of it matters.

And remember, in 2016 Trump portrayed himself as something new, a business man who'd get America back on track. He wasn't a career politician. And I do think a lot of 'normal' people went for that narrative.

Things are different in 2024. You have new voters, who have known Trump as a politician for all of their adolescent and adult lives. He never stopped campaigning during or after his presidency. He is far from fresh and he's most definitely part of the establishment for these voters. The new thing is Harris.

Vance's entire problem is that he is disturbing to everyone including Trump's traditional voters, who do care about loyalty. There's no real coming back from comparing Trump to Hitler. That will always cast a doubt on why you are suddenly running for VP alongside with him. And he has an immigrant wife, which is hard to reconcile with the opinions of most of those voters as well.

I think Trump is well and truly fucked. I'd be very surprised if this doesn't turn out as one of the worst electoral defeats of all time.
trump has an immigrant wife himself and has flipped on multiple things, such as being democrat. You’re looking into this too much imo

January 6 will put a lot of people off from him as well I reckon. Only cultists don’t see that for what it was

Agreed.

And there are only so many cultists.

About Trump's wife: she's white.

Even at Trump's rallies the numbers haven't been that great. Stories of how empty seats had to be removed and moved people closer to each other to make it look more packed out.
Reality is Trump is such a broken record I think people are getting bored of him, ive even seen stories of Maga supporters and devout Trump fans even switching sides all together now they've seen what a liar he is. I mean who really wants to listen to 90 mins of just utterly incomprehensible waffle and fictional stories of Sleepy Joe this, horse face that etc...

This is a big factor.

And the Republicans have stressed that old people really shouldn't be running for almost a year now. Kind of weird when their candidate is older than Bill Clinton, who first became president no less than 31 years ago.

I'm not sure what her personal position on this is.

But a lot of Democratic voters are critical of Israel these days, so she definitely has to make that shift to appease her base. Pelosi is doing the same.
She’s been more critical of Israel than the administration overall has. It wasn’t much, but it was there.
