Meanwhile CA banning sale of new gas cars in a few years lol
It's 2035. And we probably shouldn't be burning cow dung as cooking fuel anymore either.
I read that and saw a bunch of comments from right-leaning folks celebrating that this is “the year of the parent!” What the fuck does that even mean?
If this is the year of the parent… with inflation at 20%, brink of world war 3, mass shootings everywhere, retards filling the ranks of both parties, with their only win being banning drag queen story time??
I’d rather have the year of the pedophile to be completely honest.
I hate parents. No, seriously. It's the reason I never had kids. It was never the kids. It was always the other parents. Parents have become freaks from the days I used to walk to school by myself, play in school yards without supervision, didn't have arranged playdates, didn't have mommy and daddy trying to be my best friend. Parents have seriously f'ed a lot of things up in the past few decades.
That’s it, when is this stupid government going to forgive my bad options trades and capital losses.
Well, to be fair, the real question here is whether you believe in elite overproduction or not -- basically Turchin's cliodynamics. Because the whole student debt bubble started with that... largely under governor Reagan in Cali in the late 60s when Reagan reacted to anti-Vietnam war protests by defunding higher education. Tuitions went from $300 a year to $15k for a public institution like UC Berkeley.
It took off in other states looking to buy something for nothing: shortchanging higher educational funding in exchange for bloated loans. The student debt bubble was completely obvious by 2010 after the 2008 financial crisis defunded higher education further. And like any bubble, the taxpayers either end up paying for it up-front or the aftermath when the false economics blow up in their faces.
Students were left holding the loan bag because governments preferred defunding higher education and leaving the plebs with the choice of either being a) uneducated or b) postponed indentured servants to a newly created student loan industrial complex.
It’s year of the parent where people actually gain control over our kids education - not sure what the rest of your comment has anything to do with mass shootings or inflation? Sorta completely missed the point of what happened in FL
Label me a lib if you want, but I've heard this cry wolf business far too often to take it seriously. I'm still waiting for that Sharia Law threat from 2013 that made all these states flip out about how the Moooselims were coming to take our freedoms away.
The line between QAnon threats of cannibal pedophiles in the basement of Comet Ping Pong and the scare tactics of schools endorsing gender mutilations and drag queen book club conversion therapy is mighty thin. Antifa coming to get us, BLM burning every town down, the knockout game... it's like paranoia has a great marketing team. Just invent something crazy like teachers are endorsing cannibalism, claim you're against it, and if anybody says you're nuts you take the crazy high ground asking what are they hiding and if they support the alleged cannibals.
This playbook is tiresome.
