And don't forget that government is bad and should be as small as possible. But also, government should tell women what to do with their own bodies.
No, they should not. That’s another reason I’m not a Republican.

All smoke and mirrors. Without a doubt.

It depends on where the Trump voters are located. Obviously the hardcore Trump supporters who wear the hats and fly Trump flags in the middle of nowhere aren't staying silent, but then again, who knows if those rednecks are actually participating in the polls. I don't think many of them are because they don't care. Conversely, the non-redneck portion of the Trump vote that exists closer to the large cities remain silent for the most part for fear of backlash at multiple levels, including losing a job because someone thinks you're racist. People in Europe don't understand how bad it's gotten here in terms of being able to express political views without fear of backlash, especially from the left. So of course all of the polls have Biden leading; even everyone's favorite Nate SIlver takes all of the polls aggregated together but it doesn't mean anything, just like four years ago. That silence factor is probably even bigger now, but there's no way to quantify it.

The US does have a different culture and way of life, one that can't be compared to Northern Europe or frankly anywhere else in the world. Some things that work for Norway may not work for the US, and there's nothing wrong with that.
I agree with you that the cultural differences influence the political landscapes as well. Trump nor Biden would be anywhere close to potential candidates here in Norway, but again, cultural differences.

I´m a sports guy, and I found one incident in the 2016 US elections interesting. Lebron James, who is a godlike figure in Ohio, campaigned heavily for Hillary Clinton. But Trump actually won the state of Ohio. I think that speaks volumes of the silent white majority we´ve discussed. Either that or I´m just overestimating a guy like Lebron´s influence.

wow :disagree:

just because somebody is black you assume they must vote for Devil Hillary Clinton or Mr. 'I hope my kids never have to attend classes with black kids' Biden?

Donald Trump is a president of the Blacks and Hispanics and the latino vote in swing states was decisive in 2016.

I read somewhere that only 4% of black women voted for Trump, and 13% of black men. He did get 1/3 of the total latino vote, which was quite good given all the talk about the wall and immigration. The white vote is still the most significant, nothing wrong in pointing out the obvious.

Anyways I predict that the ongoing race issues still won´t persuade enough white voters to switch sides to Biden. I´m not American, I might be wrong so I´m deferring to the Americans here who can actually vote in this election. Interesting stuff either way.

You're also really underestimating how much people hate Hillary.

Every election cycle, we hear the same thing: if the Democrats win, socialism will replace your individual freedoms. Your guns will be taken away, etc.
I'm old enough to have never seen this happen.

BTW, anyone remember the Patriot Act? Was it Clinton or Obama who introduced it? Surely, it must have been a nosy democrat who wanted to spy on every Tom, Dick and Harry.

Rather than thinking in Dem/Rep dimensions it's smarter to think in unilateral/bilateral terms when it comes to politicians. Obama/Bush were the same breed of bilateral warlord imperialists, separated by color yet united in cause. That helped everybody in the world except American people. With Trump you have a businessman who views America as his company and primarily negotiates deals that end up significantly more in favour of the US than the previous ones. He negotiates out of a position of strength and confidence while his predecessors sacrificed the needs of his country for international recognition. You don't deserve Trump. What you apparently deserve and want is your loved ones dead in the Iranian wasteland while your president Harris is praised by EU media for using a rainbow avatar on social media.

If you have ever read through my posts in the past, you will notice that I am strongly anti-war. Its criminal that we wasted $6-8 trillion on the wars when that money could have been spent over here. I always supported Ron Paul even though some of his policies were questionable.

Having said this, due you truly believe that Trump cares about anyone but himself?
I'll give him that he hasn’t started a major war, apart from arming the Saudi's and UAE to the teeth to destroy Yemen.
But, how about withdrawing troops from Afghanistan and the Middle East for a start. When Obama tried to do so, all hell broke loose within the GOP (except my favorite Ron Paul) that Obama was a wimp etc. At the same time, I feel that Obama is responsible for the murder of Syrians and Libyans.

Trump has lied and continues to lie.
He said he was going to get rid of restrictive regulations. I was really excited when he took office. What a joke that turned out to be. At least in health care, things have markedly worsened as regards regulations.
Trumps example is akin to a doctor who sees a new patient who is on the wrong medicine from his previous doctor but does nothing to correct it.

And no we don’t need to go anywhere near Iran. We need to get out of ALL foreign wars.

I still don’t understand why we have to die for others. Everyone needs to fight their own wars.

Trump too busy turning ‘Murica into third world banana republic to start foreign wars. He’s gunning for a new civil war instead. Why send ‘Muricans overseas to die, when you can just fan the flames and have them kill each other on domestic soil. America First! amirite?

By ze way, Trump Virus has killed far more ‘Muricans than every war post-Korean combined.
