Nah. If you followed American politics since post Bush Sr, you’d know very well the answer to that. Gingrich, Limbaugh, and other such Republicans of that era (which is by no means all of them) are directly responsible for the current absurd level of partisan hatred in the US. Those guys even take pride in having created this current political climate, where the opposition are all treasonous and traitors against ‘murica. There’s not a chance civil discourse, no bi-partisanship possible when you call the other side traitors, anti-American, and criminals.
And of course the democrats have just joined in the fun, and helped push it beyond the pale over the last decade, but Trump with his rhetoric, his lies, his claims of rigged elections, his threats of locking up all his political opponents and journalists is the obvious straw that is breaking the camel’s back.

I think there are different types of sports fans who take their love for athletes to different levels. Some probably worship Lebron and go out of their way to buy Blaze Pizza, while others might just want him to shut up and dribble because that's his job. The bigger issue that consumes our lives, right now, is the constant pressure to divide the races, which is something that obviously does NOT benefit Republicans, which is why this supposed issue is always promoted by the left because without it they have nothing to stand upon. There's no "motive" for the Republicans to push a race war when they already are losing a shit ton of votes because everyone thinks they're all "racists". You always fail to provide context to your claims because there isn't any, especially considering Trump has already done a shit ton for the black community, obviously above expectations for such a terrible racist.

I don't think he won to be honest. He did just enough to hold on to the people who were already voting for him. He did mess up slightly on energy- I am all for renewables, but I realize that a lot of people still depend on the fossil fuel industry.
I don't think Trump did great either- he was more restrained than the first debate, but he did not lay out a single policy. Not one.
Overall I think it was a wash. Trump fans think he won, Biden fans think the opposite.
For the most part, I don't think it's going to sway opinion in one way or the other.

Also, most of the epidemics on this list are over a 100 years old, so this is definitely a once in a century pandemic.

Spot on. I personally find these who won this and that debate discussions quite pointless. People will mostly look at these debates through partisan-coloured lenses and pick the "winner" accordingly unless there's a bigger moment that really goes sour for one of the candidates. In any case I think you need to look the debates in the context of the race. Sometimes just running down the clock can be seen as a win if the lead is already substantial.
People debating debate winners is a bit like arguing over who won the talent contest on the deck of the Titanic.

But if there's any polarity at work in the world today it's not Democrat vs Republican, Left vs Right. It's Open vs Closed. The split is between movements that want to:
a) shut it all down and preserve time, culture, and history like a dead beetle pin-mounted on a museum wall, maintain status quo, lock the doors, and pretend their neighbors died in a fire ... and
b) movements that want to burn down the past but face up to mounting global limits, working within a world that is now defined more by global interconnected issues than isolated ones (late capitalism, globalization, technological disruption, inequality, climate change, mass migration)
There needs to be a balance. a) can be a bit of burying your head in the sand and pretending it all goes away by itself (see: COVID). b) can be a bit of scorched earth, Mao Cultural Revolution that is sometimes too immature to play the game without throwing the board and pieces away because they don't like some of the rules.
The polarization is the lie. Because one without the other is a recipe for extinction.
