I'm still surprised anybody thinks debates actually matter much anymore. They might sway a few voters, but I'd say not enough to swing an election... that's for sure. Not in this modern political era where people have 24x7 contact on their social media feeds.

There was a time when debates used to be one of the rare places a political candidate would speak his/her/its mind. Now they can't shut up.
