Proud to be Murican.

Disclaimer: I’m having a few drinks. Still proud
I’m proud as shit to be Murican
It's not like this is any sort of personal achievement. Many great men and women have been American. As a country the US achieved many great things. But you? Well, you weren't really part of any of this. You can be proud of your country. But being proud to be an American is misguided. Get off your fucking high horse and realise your country is in shambles.

The same thing goes for many Europeans by the way. Many of us feel superior towards others. We feel superior towards Africans, because we are better off financially. We feel superior towards Asians because there simply aren't as many of us. And we feel superior towards Americans because we are more sophisticated.

And it's all fucking bullshit. I have fuck all to do with all the achievements of Europeans.

You’re kind of overreacting here. US is far from being “in shambles”. Also, there’s nothing wrong with being proud of your nationality/nationalities in my case.

Don't care.

Love being American. "This close" to achieving my dream. When I do, I'll remind folks here just how fucking GOOD the American dream is. Love it. Hate it. I'm going for it. Only country in the world I can do what I'm about to accomplish. Not even 40 yet...

So you are proud to take advantage of things you had and have absolutely no say or contribution in. What you are is lucky.

I am only jealous of americans because they are allowed to buy guns. :depressed Other than that I can't see many advantages over good old Europe

Lucky? I'm in control of my life. I guess I don't follow what you're saying.
I'd love to hear you say that if you were born in somalia, the point is you can't be proud of something you had no control over, it is great to be American but to be proud of that is like saying I'm proud to have won the lottery. So instead of proud use lucky/fortunate, I'm very fortunate to be American is more like it.

Could have just as well plopped out in a so called shithole country and be fucked from the very beginning with little to no chance to ever lead a life like the average western world citizen.
