This casual reckless attitude is something that almost seems typically American.

But remember it has hurt a lot of Americans too. Whenever they're off to war they still act like the British in 1914. 'Home by Christmas', you know? So freaking naive. And then they come back without legs.
I wouldn't say it's exclusive to americans, because we have enough of them in europe, but it does seem americans are less empathetic about it. At least our goverments aren't run by a retarded evil monkey.

It is sickening how everybody is talking about these events. I get it, most of them live on the other side of the planet in a worm and cozy place and have no idea but still some thought that these actions are everyday events (like raining bombs) of syrian people life, people just like you and me. How fucking awful it would be to live in a place where 50 bombs in a neighbourhood would be just another day in a week.

No sympathy or empathy in them, that is fucked up. And all this does it devalues even more the life of these middle eastern people everyday. These comments in such light hearted manner only adds to the brainwashing that somehow their life is not important in grand scheme of things.

Fucked up things.
That is pretty much what I meant with my post above yours

It's such a naive & child-like approach to war. Once you look at how it's portrayed in media all around them you kinda get where they're coming from though. Plus the fact that the US didn't have to deal with the horrors of war for 150 years now. Most people in Europe have at least a grandparent who directly experienced WW2, or even more recent events e.g. in Yugoslavia. That massively impacts your perception as well.

Don't like political memes, but this is just too perfect

an unmanned strike that kills the maximum number of faceless people and makes the loudest noise is a wet dream for many American right wingers. See how that Fox Business interviewer is excited that the whole Syria strike was unmanned.

Minimal political value in this (except who she refering to as deniers, especially near end), but this is extremely interesting 11 minutes worth of clip:

highlights perfectly why facts are of no concern to mainstream sphere these days.

A lying deceitful greedy impulsive narcissit with a history of not giving a $#@! about "smaller" people: that guy fooled you.
Hillary is that with a multiple of two or three. I don't see how Trump being President helps his wealth or popularity, especially how everyone already hates him. We've been over this before -- you just don't understand the real climate of US politics. There is no sense in me continuing this when I've explained my position countless times. It won't change.

- - - Updated - - -

Andy is one of those confused morons who advocates bombing the middle east back into the Stone Age. As long as American ground troops aren't deployed he's perfectly happy with Trump bombing the $#@! out of pretty much any foreign nation that dares go against the good ol' US of A.

But but but... "libtards... obama.. hilary..."
I've never said anything of the sort. My position has always been one of a protectionist, but even Liberals hate that too because it's "Libertarian." Whatever, dude. You can misrepresent me all you want; for what reason, I don't know. But if Trump cuts my taxes and cap gains go down, there will be a day I cut off the internet and live on a beach somewhere so I don't have to deal with you freaks. That's all I really care about, especially if my tax dollars go to people like you.

- - - Updated - - -

Trump is doing exactly what Andy didn't want the next president of the US to be doing. And instead of recognising his glaring mistake, he chooses to go deeper into the abyss. Why? Because acknowledging a mistake means taking personal responsibility. He refuses to do so. I'm not joking when I say that Andy's the kind of person who would be guarding the camps.

And what's even worse, @Bjerknes, is that you are the way you are, because you're a spoilt little brat. You grew up all your life thinking you were special. You were exceptional. You just knew you were. You probably chose some major in college no one had heard of because it was special too. And then it turned out there was no job waiting for you. So you took some weak ass boring lowlife job, earning you 25k a year, keeping you alive and comfortable, but really doing nothing for you in terms of money or kicks. And instead of blaming yourself, because you had every opportunity in life to be more, but blew them all, you prefer to go down the typical white male in his thirties route. You grow ever more right and bitter. If only you didn't have to pay so many taxes, if only there weren't so many goddamn libtards, if only the Mexicans would go back.. $#@! no, Andy. Even if everything you wanted happened, even if you got everything handed to you on a silver platter, you'd still find a way to lose it all. Because deep down you know that's what you are. A loser. A $#@!ing cliché.
Instead of beating me down so much, why don't you show me the right direction and help me? That's what a good person would do.

:lol2: that you think your tax dollars go to people like me. I've worked my entire adult life. Haven't been given a dime I did not earn myself through hard work and a lot of sweat.

You refuse to see what's right in front of you. There's no point showing you the right direction. You're deliberately choosing to follow a man who has been shown to lie on a daily basis and who tweets, tweets ffs, about the relationship between the US and other countries.

Typical Republican attitude. Complaining about freeloading liberals while enjoying the bulk of federal spending.

Have you read Strangers in Their Own Land? The author calls this "The great paradox" and tries to find a reason for it throughout the whole book. She travels to southwest Louisiana and befriends and interviews a lot of Tea Party enthusiasts. In short, she believes even though a lot of them may need government handouts they are not proud of receiving it, and deep down blame "people who cut in the line" i.e. immigrants, welfare recipients, etc. as the root of their problems. They fundamentally believe government cannot change their lives for better, so no matter how much they receive in handouts their views remain the same.

I haven't, but I believe there are primarily two reasons for this.
1. Fear of the other. Let's be honest, this is not limited to Republicans, but is a common trait among most socio-economic/ethnic/religious groups around the world. However, since people in the deep south are more likely to live in more insular and non-diverse communities, they are more prone to fall prey to identity politics.
2. Propaganda is a powerful tool. For decades the GOP, and to a large extent the Democrats have waged a war against anything seen as remotely 'socialistic'. Hence the knee-jerk reaction to government spending programs, despite not having even basic knowledge about the federal budget and basic economics.
