Has anybody seen a piece explaining why Trump's popularity polls are way different than each other? Rasmussen Reports poll shows him +10 on popularity but Gallup shows -13.

Maybe I'm wrong. But I seem to remember CNN and BBC for example mostly overlooking or just barely reporting about info from Wikileaks unless it was to accuse the Russians of interference.
Hard to quantify it, but all wikileaks stuff, the emails, etc, got plenty of coverage on every major news channel.

It isn't hard to quantify. We have multiple studies on such matter in Denmark.

The problem is perception and bias from the viewer/reader.

Perhaps. I was looking out for their interpretation of the leaks, but I hardly remember them reporting on specific leaks, rather than the fact that there were just leaks.

But as you say, could be bias.

Trump claimed today he had "the biggest electoral college win since Reagan," with 306 EC votes.

Reporters called him out on it (Obama won by way more twice (332 and 365) and Clinton once (379)) and asked why they should trust him if he uses fake statistics. He tried to explain that he meant the Republican side only, and reporter pointed out that George HW Bush crushed his numbers (426).

Trump responds "I don't know, I was just given that information. It was a big margin."

Dude literally lies out both sides of his mouth and has the gall to call out the media for lying.

:lol2:

I wasn't sure about Clinton '92, as it wasn't in the article I read. That makes it even more amusing.

Trump loses electoral college in 5 of 7 elections between him and Reagan and somehow claims he had the biggest win post-Reagan. These types of lies are just bizarre.

And there will be one.

He's completely unprepared for this job, he's incredibly underqualified, has obvious mental issues because of his narcissism and he's pretty damn old too.

Most importantly though he's a liability to everyone involved. There's no real way of knowing what he'll do next or how far he'll go.

Not sure if it's really a lie tbh, the guy probably believes the BS he spouts himself.

@Seven

The last bit of this piece is what's really scary:

When Trump finally wrapped up his soliloquy and took questions, a reporter pointed out that both Obama and George H. W. Bush got more Electoral College votes than he did, and asked why Americans should trust him when he peddles blatant falsities. “I was given that information,” Trump replied blithely. “I’ve seen that information around.” Another reporter asked Trump whether he was concerned that, by labelling stories he didn’t like as “fake news,” he was undermining public faith in the First Amendment. He threw the question back. “The press—the public doesn’t believe you people anymore,” he said. “Now, maybe I had something to do with that. I don’t know. But they don’t believe you.”

As far as many of Trump’s core supporters are concerned, that may be true. When he walked out of the room, some of his aides appeared to be delighted. Rush Limbaugh, another Palm Beach resident who has made his career by going loco on the mainstream media, was busy hailing what he had just seen. In parts of Trumpland, then, this was seen as a big win. Practically everywhere else, the reaction was: Wow! He really is a nut.
His supporters see this shit and somehow it reinforces their dogmatic belief in this shameless idiot.
