Time for a transgender Judge.

Will Obama get to appoint his replacement or Trump next year?

textualists suck
The fight on that has already begun, Mitchell & Cruz for example have already come out to say that they want the replacement to be appointed by the next president. Obama apparently wants to appoint his guy anyways, expected to come out with a speech in half an hour or so.

This is rumoured to be Obama's guy, rather centrist actually, probably in hope that the Repubs will accept him.

It's expected that 2-3 judges will have to be replaced during the next precedency anways, so the next president already will have some crazy power, and will probably shape the court for the next 25 years or so. If some hardcore conservatives are appointed, even things such as abortion could come under scrutiny again, not even talking about gay marriage or gun legislation.

It's also completely absurd that these decisions matter this much. Goes exactly against the idea of a constitutional court in the first place.

Mitch McConnell, majority speaker, suggested that they hold off appointing a replacement judge until after the election. Which is basically saying that he doesn't want Obama to do that but would rather take his chances with the next president.

Which is particularly idiotic given that the Supreme Court typically has a lot of key rulings around August and the election is not until November.

Oh, so you glommed on the "Poland-style" bit? Basically it's a reference to partisanship between an executive branch and assignments and control over a legislative one. This isn't something unique to Poland (Argentina, Egypt, etc.). But it sure is timely right now with the recent Polish Constitutional Court crisis.

I wouldn't call Kasich a compassionate conservative even if he swore on his mother's grave. The guy is a maniuplative Wall Street freak who was selling his soul for TARP bailout funds after screwing his own investors. He doesn't have an ounce of compassion in him, trust me.

Rubio is just a demented Latino version of Matt Damon who receives scripts from Karl Rove and Dick Cheney (or one of his other bionic clones they wheel out from time to time).
