He was complete dick to the telemarketer but I get him getting riled up, swimming against a sea of idiocy more or less (seeing the establishment pit poor or uneducated people against eachother)...

The tactic is nothing new, nor is it suprising she uses it, first time I heard about was indeed the McCain sitaution described in the article, its very memorable what they did (about his daughter and wife).

Thank you for deferentiating socialism from social democrat, I was waiting for that...

Most definitely, that poor woman has nothing to do with that dirty campaign.

I've been over this too many times, Oz. I don't believe in welfare states and massive government regulation ruling over businesses. Governments are not efficient. The US is also highly diverse economically and socially, so it can't be compared to Denmark, for instance.

Lol. I find it funny people still believe that a candidate is gonna do what he/she says. We all know that they will do what their constituency tells them to do, if they get elected.
A candidates constituency is presumably the majority of voters that elected him/her based on what they said they were gonna do. It isn't the candidates constituents who are a threat to them seeing out their promises, it's the special interest lobbies (NRA, Wall Street, the Israel lobby etc.) that might threaten to cut a candidates campaign funding or sway senators in congress against passing certain bills.

That really is not the point. You can have an efficient government. It's just that many countries don't. My own being a very good example.

As for welfare states.. I think healthcare should always be free, no matter what. It's the 21st century ffs. Also, logistically speaking we can feed and house every single person on this planet. If people die from hunger or freeze to death, it is because we made a moral choice not to help them. Don't hide behind clichés and say you're against a welfare state. You choose to let people die. Fine. Say it like it is. Weakling.
