Lol, why would you pay him?
Even I have a heart. I would pay him what he considers minimum wage, so probably like 2 dollars.

Trump really fucked up Canadian conservatives, he lost them the election

Good, fuck those poorly educated truckers who voted for him.

what a source of pride for them, jfc

these are sick people. it also makes you wonder why it's not some actual positive results they put there, but some arrests (of which some probably even violated the constitution)

It’s literally something you would see in Latin America. Why don’t they start posting pictures of all those Christian sex offenders?

i believe it when i see it. either way, this must happen. this would also be a huge personal loss for trump and the meltdown would be not only a pleasure to see but also a case study on how trump imagines holding on to his power to govern via eo's once the senate grows a spine and opposes him. republicans enabled him, they can - and should - also stop him

straight from russian propaganda tv, just the word "europe" is replaced with "canada":

maga is braindead idiotic cancer to the world, period.

It still needs to pass in the house, and even then Trump can veto. It’s mostly symbolic.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politi...o-are-u-s-citizens-their-families-lawyers-say

I'm just going to quote the article, as it sort of speaks for itself:

"Gracie Willis of the National Immigration Project said the mothers, at the very least, did not have a fair opportunity to decide whether they wanted the children to stay in the United States."

"The 4-year-old — who is suffering from a rare form of cancer — and the 7-year-old were deported to Honduras within a day of being arrested with their mother, Willis said. "

"In a Thursday court filing, lawyers for the father said ICE indicated that it was holding the 2-year-old girl in a bid to induce the father to turn himself in. His lawyers didn’t describe his immigration status, but said he has legally delegated the custody of his daughters to his sister-in-law, a U.S. citizen who also lives in Baton Rouge."

So, no. This is not simply a case of the kids being with their righthful parents.

Parents make decisions in the best interests of their child. It's unlikely that the parent of a 4 year old receiving cancer treatments in the US would decide that it's in the best interest of the child to go to Honduras. The child will probably not even be alive at 18 because of this decision. But let's stop pretending.

You want this child to suffer.

That is who you are as a person.

As for the 2 year old, well, looks like the legal custodian wasn't heard.
There's something odd about a nation that is that mortally afraid of toddlers.

It's a dictatorship without the bloodshed yet. I'd love to hear the opinion of influential people ie, soldiers, police, etc. Obviously immigration officers have let the power get to their heads, hence the roundup of people without remorse. Judges have remained strong regarding the law. However, should Trump ask police to beat down protesters, I'd like to see how much force they use. Same for soldiers asked to prepare for Canada or Greenland, it sounds ridiculous but if they're all in, Trump would be a real force and crackdown hard on his opponents. My great grandkids will read books on this insane period in American history.

if the news are accurate then they have the required votes from republicans and all dems are likely to vote yes. i didn't know that trump could veto it. then where's the control over the president...

The tweet you posted says he has enough vote in the senate not the house.
But every bill or resolution needs to pass both houses of Congress and signed by the president. Presidents can veto, but congress can override it if 2/3rd of each house vote to do so. There’s also the cloture (filibuster) rule in the senate that says to bring a motion to a vote you need a vote of 60 senators. Houses of Congress, and especially US senate are very conservative institutions as a result.
This is effectively why it’s very difficult to repeal/change laws once they’re in the books.
