Do the Firefox Add-ons make the browser itself a little bit slow after installing themes, dictionaries, etc...?
Overall experience I'd say yes, they do, but browsing itself, ie loading of pages shouldn't be any slower.

Screw that, get Opera, it has everything important already installed. Can't hurt to try. ;)

I installed some Add-ons like I said before, and it works perfect. But I still haven't used the themes that I installed. I'll use one of them now, let's see.

I already downloaded the latest version of Opera, but I didn't use it a lot. You know, I felt confused for having three browsers after installing Opera and already having FF and IE. I may try to use it though.

FF gets slower with plugins, that's for sure, but why would one install lots of plugins?

Themes for example all suck, the best FF view is the default skin, adblock and flashblock are more than enough and if you want to have some fun then Stumble is the way to go.

Till this moment, I installed 5 different themes without using any, the 1st five here. So, you recommend me not to use any, don't you?

But, what about adblock and flashblock? I haven't noticed these skins yet.

Adblock and Flashblock are add-ons, which are completely different to themes. Themes exist to allow users to skin and customise the appearance of their browser, while add-ons provide extra functionality. Adblock and Flashblock are plug-ins that remove advertising images, and give you the option of clicking to view flash animations, instead of having them pop up all over your screen.

Thanks, Gray.

But where can I find them? These are the only available plug-ins

It's a matter of taste in the end, I like the default look of FireFox so I don't use themes/skins/whatever.

I guess Graham answered you about adblock and flashblock, cheers G :pint:

i prefer Opera to FF. i dunno why, but it's simply not browsing if i dont have Opera. yeah, i can prolly add Mouse Gestures add-on, but it doesnt "feel" the same in FF. and i do feel that Opera is faster in loading pages, both from cache and from the server!

What has Opera better than Firefox ? ;)
I already downloaded the latest version of Opera, but I didn't use it a lot. You know, I felt confused for having three browsers after installing Opera and already having FF and IE. I may try to use it though.
Well a lot of things for starters, integrated e-mail client, mouse gestures(unmatched, no FF extension will work as well as Opera's), etc.. But the most important thing; it's faster, it loads pages faster, it remembers last visited pages, has better disk cache.. The ultimate browser, out of the box, something FF is not.

I got Opera working in Feisty. I missed her so much. :p
