You should learn a thing or two from your dad ;)

Do the tweaks I shared with you earlier, or download the "fasterfox" plugin, and tel me how that works out for you. Speaking of plugins, the variety and power plugins offer for firefox does the deal for me. No need to mention the other stuff tbh.

I'm still at work... will surely try those settings when i get home.
With those settings enabled - do I still need that plugin?

From the comments I see here ... I guess I'll be using FireFox from now on :smoke:

P.S. Firefox has that "several Tabs in one window" option, doesn't it? :)

Hasn't FF always been multi-tabbed? Yes.

No for the tweaks you don't need a plugin. However you can install a plugin that does it for you...I prefer doing it manually.

Address Bar -> type about:config

Find these filters and change them to the following:

network.dns.disableIPv6 -> true
network.http.pipelining -> true
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests -> 8
network.http.proxy.pipelining -> true

And restart FF
I gotta say MANY THANKS!:tup: :toast:

Using FireFox from now on!:tup: :tup: :tup:

i got the .deb from opera.com and installed it after updating! works like a charm. even that 'operapluginwrapper' crash i used to get in Edgy isnt comin here!
Funny. I did the exact same thing, albeit a fresh install of Feisty Kubuntu, and Opera wouldn't start. I installed the .deb for Edgy.
