Well, it was obviously better in theatres but I enjoyed the director's cut much more, it included some good parts.

Did you understand the movie without reading the novel?
Yep I did, but cause i know my history more than anything

fixed.

i didnt say it was a good movie, i meant to suggest it was of the same narrative, i enjoy scarface in a post modern sence if you get what i mean.

'the boz' - i give up i was just trying to suggest that you were looking at the film in the wrong and as such giving it a bad rap for the wrong reasons, it wasnt an amazing film, it was something to watch and i knew what i was going to be watching, i got what i was intending to watch. I never for a second thought it was going to be a quality film. i guess we are just arguing different things.
nah i wasn't arguing but you turned it into a flame war

it was a comedy but the comedy in there was far too light to make it enjoyable

I'll give you Once Upon a Time and The Departed, but Casino? Good enough movie, but not on the same level with OUATIA, The Departed and Goodfellas.

Joe Pesci is basically playing the same role he played in Goodfellas, but to a much lesser extent.
Casino was awesome. I liked it a lot. You get to see the Mafia world through the eyes of an outsider. That and I thought the development of the relationship between DeNiro and Stone was much better than Bracco and Liotta.

BTW Pesci plays the same guy in every movie.:D

IMO you've got the Godfather 1 and 2 and then everything else.

The Strangers - pretty good horror/thriller. Rather intense for a mainstream movie, good soundmix, some scary moments. Only thing that bothered me were the stupid decisions the characters made from time to time, something that happens in pretty much every horror movie.

In Bruges- about my 7th watch, its one of the best films of decade and i emplore all of you too see it, it gets better on second viewing, as with all black comedy.

"They're filming midgets!" :D
Eirik: I was trying to rob him. And he took my gun from me. And the gun was full of blanks. And he shot a blank into my eye. And now I cannot see from this eye ever again, the doctors say.
Harry: Well to be honest it sounds like it's all your fault.
Eirik: What?
Harry: I mean basically if you're robbing a man and you're only carrying blanks and you allow your gun to be taken off you and you allow yourself to be shot in the eye with a blank which I assume that the person has to get quite close to you then, yeah really it's all your fault for being such a poof, so why don't you stop wingeing and cheer the fuck up.
Yuri: Eirek - I really wouldn't respond.
Eirik: I thought you wanted the guy dead?
Harry: I do want the guy dead, I want him fucking crucified but it don't change the fact that he stitched you up like a blind little gay boy, does it?
