Goodfellas isn't that great of a movie. Sure it's got some scenes that are the money, but it's nowhere near the top echelon of gangster movies.
Yea, Mean Streets (if I'm to choose among Scorsese's) was by far a better gangster movie.

Everyone needs to rewatch Memento, or watch it if somehow missed it, many years ago since I saw it last, and still suprising what a genial noire-ish little unique thriller it is. Talk about one of a kind flick.
Nolan is a genius. Alongside with Aronofsky, he is my favorite director of the young generation. I like his batman series as well but I prefer him to produce more of Mementos.

nah bro...didn't watch it out of protest when they gave Penn the Oscar for it

Yea it was all Rourke's

In what way was it bloody awful? I didnt laugh much, but it wasnt my kind of humour. It didnt claim to be anything big, its fairly simple, it claimed to be a film about two people making a porno, and suprisingly it was a film about two people making a porno. If you were expecting to see anything else from it, then you are a fool. You cant fault it, it didnt claim to be anything else. Whether or not it is quality cinema is another question. But it was fairly mor and something to watch when nothing else was on. Unlike the purveyor of filth that is transformers.
no, i expect a comedy to be...um....whats the word again....oh aye FUNNY

i can let go a some lighthearted romance behind the story if the actual movie makes me laugh, this wasnt a film about 2 people making a porno, there was no fucking laughter coming from my mouth so as a comedy it failed big time

Saw Men of Honour a couple days ago, can't believe i had it on dvd and never watched it, I really liked the film, though it seems similar to The Guardian.

Blow was a very good film, and it essentially the same thing as scarface, goodfellas, the business etc. rags to riches to death/prison/rags. And the ending to it was extremely powerful.
Though Scarface isn't a good movie. De Palma couldn't direct his way out of an elevator.
