Watchmen is not an excellent adaption knowing the source material, but also knowing Alan Moore and how he made it, ITS NOT supposed to be adapted to movie screen at all. But as a comic book movie, Watchmen is defenitely one of the better ones made (even if I dont like changing the tone to current more modern events, like they did for V for vendetta).

If that makes any sense, hopefully it does, but its possible to differentiate both. Just take it at face value for the movie it is and not entirely compare it to the original medium, especially one thats as intricate and tough to do justice like the watchmen comic is.

Comes out this month, Duncan Jones is an underrated director.

P.S Netflix is on a streak this month with "lets fund Blade Runner-esque worlds projects".

War Horse - It's great how they turn a silent animal into a great (best) character. I enjoyed it while my throat was sore when I watched certain scenes. If I were a little bigger pussy I would have started crying.

Yôjinbô - I love Kurosawa but I expected more. It's surely entertaining and nice movie to watch but it's far behind Rashômon and Shichinin no samurai.

When Harry Met Sally... - Nice movie to kill your time. I like that old-school type of movies.

LOTR - I had to rewatch the first part. And the second. And tonight I'll watch the third. Extended. All of it. It's nothing but a piece of art.

Chinese Coffee - Great movie for a tinny budget I'd say. Full of dialogs and not for everybody.

K2 - Meh. It's decent I guess.

:touched: words can't express my love for JRR, his opus and PJ's trilogy
Me too. Oh man, the love I have for LOTR is just incredible.

You know the feeling when you watch some movie and you end up delighed with it? Then, after like 10 years, you watch it again and you're like: wait, this is not even that good? It happened to me. And I guess that's normal. Your personal taste developes and turns into something new. You start to see things differently. You even watched like 300 new movies and you get to love some new details, camera work or whatever. It's... it's just normal, right? But I never had that with LOTR ever since I watched it in the young age. They pushed the borders and did something brilliant and that won't ever change for me. I watched it again and I'm as stunned as I was all the times I watched it (and, oh boy, I think I watched it over 15 times at least). The characters, the music (pfff, so amazing), every piece of line and landscape is just fap worthy. Even more fapworthy if you watched a 10-12 hour video of LOTR filming that stunned me even more. The miniatures, the mini cameras, and all the work that was put into it is just a huge piece of diamond. All the artists that were there, the make up, etc. It's just a smooth line of art that ended with 9-11 hour of a movie.

As for JRR, that's even bigger. Not only he pushed the borders, but the guy invented a whole new universe that will live forever. It's literally in plenty of movies and video games already. He made the whole fantasy world something that you gotta love.

Has anyone seen Loving Vincent? I just found out about it, seems like a unique and incredible project

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loving_Vincent

Loving Vincent is a 2017 animated biographical drama film about the life of painter Vincent van Gogh, and in particular, the circumstances of his death. It is the first fully painted animated feature film. The film, written and directed by Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman, is a Polish production, funded by the Polish Film Institute, and partially through a Kickstarter campaign.

Each of the film's 65,000 frames is an oil painting on canvas, using the same technique as Van Gogh, created by a team of 125 painters. The film premiered at the 2017 Annecy International Animated Film Festival. It won Best Animated Feature Film Award at the 30th European Film Awards in Berlin and was nominated for Best Animated Feature at the 90th Academy Awards.

I'm curious to see how funny this actually turns out to be.

Throw in Latrell Sprewell and Ron Artest. Maybe a little Charles Oakley and Bill Laimbeer too. Would have quite the villain team.
