What you fap for? Didnt you read the thing?

Both things can be good. Plus, we need to discuss what we mean by “adult,” because sex and violence don’t make anything “adult,” and the idea that maturity is always wrapped up in those things is frustrating.

Even just looking at the most recent Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the film talks about child slavery, military-industrial complexes, the endless fatigue of war, loss of faith, and a whole lot of murder in the name of a cause that is, at best, an abstract notion that hasn’t existed in generations. That’s not kids’ stuff. Yes, there are porgs, cute animals, and a lot of just big budget special effects and universal themes that make it applicable to children, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t good or doesn’t have an emotional maturity that resonates with adults.

Both stories can exist without one having to be more “mature” or “adult” than the other, because if you made Dune into a Star Wars movie it would be … bad, and vice versa. You need both, but they can be enjoyed equally and for different reasons.

I watched some movies recently.

Thor: Ragnarok - Btw, the torrent is out and quality is beyond amazing. I wish the movie was too. It felt like a retarded child was born by The Fifth Element and some dogshit comedy. And while they were having sex they had this shit music that doesn't even fit the movie. Better than the first two surely but still a bad one in my books. But that's just my opinion obviously as I see people love it. I don't.

The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain - What a fucking title. So I was ill and we had this on TV. And I watched it. Meh.

I watched a bit of Bergman so I checked out Viskningar och rop and it was decent, I expected more. It was rather disturbing and memorable, though. Then I watched Såsom i en spegel and I liked it a whole lot more, that was a good one.

I wanted to watch more but I ended up watching Mindhunter and Mindhunt: Unabomber.

How did The Shape of Water water get so many oscar nominations? Its decent but far from even Guillermo del Toro's best. I dont get it as it seems far from oscar bait too.

Oh ok.

Thought you expected full on nudity and stuff.
Haha, nah. I just have high expectations about it. Wasn't looking towards a quality porn :D

I actually have no idea. IMO it's a very good movie and above average. Time won't kill it surely. But it doesn't deserve so many nominations surely.

@Post Ironic @lgorTudor @Dostoevsky Watch a movie called Hunt for the wilderpeople, a little Kiwi movie that's just a super charming dramedy. With Sam Neill, an amazing child actor and director being the funny clever underrated goofball Taika Waititi.

Anyone watched Cloverfield Paradox on Netflix already?
Bad. If you're a fan of the cloververse, it added some ok background details to explain previous installments but movie was just boring.

Just like 10 Cloverfield lane they bought a totally unrelated script but the movie they bought and rehashed wasn't any good.

The shape of water was such a mediocre movie with little to zero novelty or creativity, I don't get the hype at all. The only good thing was Richard Jenkins. And I guess they are gonna nominate Octavia Spencer every time she plays the stereotypical role of a black maid/help. Holly Hunter would have been a much much more deserved nominee.
