General consensus? Inglourious Basterds is IMO very overrated and I'd actually agree with the metascore that they got for it, which was 61/100. I personally rated it 7, but I still believe it's way overhyped. Same goes for Django.

But yeah, I guess there's no point arguing, I think I'm sliding with the minority as plenty of folks does rate Tarantino and his unique way of showing violence. He is above average but I'd never label him as great by any means.

Well yeah I mean movie critic sites, reviews, fan an critic alike. General consensus means the broader spectrum, not just choosing one you agree with. You can argue your own opinion this way but not that of the general consensus.

That said I'm generally not a huge Tarantino fan, either, but he has made 5-6 movies I like a lot.

61/100 is not based on one I agree with but movie critics' average mark for it. But it's not like I'm a sheep and I follow those.

It's not like I can bash you for liking it, or any other film, as many people do love those. It all comes down to personal preference. Just sayin'

Alla Luce Del Sole - It was pretty good but I might be biased cause it has Luca Zingaretti in it  the big inspector Montalbano. I enjoyed it.

M - So much ahead of its time it's incredible. Brilliant movie with not so brilliant ending imo but it's still a movie that's gonna stay out there forever.

I don't know, his movies aren't masterpieces, or movies that engage you intellectually and make you think, but they're among the most entertaining in the world imo.
If you get close to the screen you can hear Quentin fap over his unique style. It's a matter of taste ofc but to me all his movies are Solid Sevens, except Reservoir Dogs 9/10, Pulp Fiction 8/10, Death Proof 6/10 (5 of those points earned by M.E.W. :tuttosport:) They're good but don't deserve all the Superlatives from the media. Not because they're not intellectual...I own lots of simple movies and I only buy the best ones :D

Anybody seen La Foresta Di Ghiaccio? Is it as bad as everybody says?

It's incredibly self-indulgent, certainly.

Also, "entertaining" is of course extremely subjective.

is Predestination good?
It's kind of fucked up , but it's good . It is based on a novel that started some of the cliches of time travel movies , not gonna spoil anything though . I admit that it is pretty slow at the begining which sets up the story and characters , and by begining I mean pretty much half the movie :D .

Watched American Sniper and Jupiter Ascending . Liked the first one , good directing and good performance by Cooper . Second one was shit . The story ain't great , characters pretty much suck and are very archetypical , also the worlds aren't that interesting and it doesn't take much time to build the settings . There are also some elements in the story that make no sense . The only good thing about the movie was Redmayne , I'd like to see him as a Bond villain when he's aged a bit .

Rashômon - Brilliant.

Certified Copy - Damn, did not expect this, it's a great movie. Covers deep meaning of life/marriage and Juliette Binoche was absolutely amazing in it. Quite simple yet so tough to swallow.

Pulp Fiction is pretty great. And Django Unchained really is excellent too. Add to that Reservoir Dogs and you already have three movies I think were completely awesome. That's not too shabby.

Also, I like all three of those movies because of the dialogues rather than the violence. So many quotes..
