If the assassins creed movie with fassbender atached to lead and duncan jones warcraft are a box office success there will be a lot of video game movie adaptions coming soon . It may very well replace the superhero fad once it has run it's course . As a gamer myself I am very excited since there are a ton of potential gems . Bad news is that until today i strugle to remember a really good video game movie while the list of bad ones is very damn long .

Tomb raider , mario bros , resident evil , hitman , mortal kombat , street fighter , prince of persia , bloodrayne , dead or alive , max payne , doom , silent hill , need for speed . There hasn't been even one good video game movie .

This month brings first Star Wars trailer. Can't wait to see that.

I watched Winter Light. Before seeing that one I had Persona as my favorite Bergman movie. However, now, I'm sliding with Winter Light. Amazing movie, great acting and even if it has a slow beginning it's still pretty brilliant. Pretty deep and it covers many layers of human nature.

Children of Men - It was... solid-ish, nothing special surely. What I liked about it was how they made the whole partial apocalyptic world (for some reason I love seeing such movies) and revolt of the society. But I didn't really like much besides that. It was a pretty crap ending imo, kinda predictable. 7/10 at most

Moon - Ok, this one I liked. I think it was hard to pull a one man show (not really like Cast Away) but they did it. Robot was kinda cool and soundtrack was absolutely brilliant, dat piano really added quality and intensive scenes. Acting was pretty solid. I just wish it was more of a brainfuck, though, I feel like they gave away too much in the middle of the movie. But it was still pretty unique which makes it pretty great.

I just watched Fast and Furious 7, i really don't see what the fuss was all about, and it was the exact same thing as the fast n furious 6, i mean, they had an MMA fighter, and a martial arts Asian guy as well last time, even the Paul Walker tribute was meh..

Sercet of Kells, inspired by this thread.

Wow they don't like Vikings, do they? :D You can easily negotiate with them, offer them land and crush it after they leave

Those movies offer evolution in a movie industry.

From a regular movie they went into a super hero mode.

Watched it too the other week, but it didn't impress me that much to be honest. It's not that it isn't a good movie though, it's great as far as I can tell, but the genre just isn't exactly my favourite ;)

This Deadpool movie is a terrible example of a money grab superhero type of movies.

This movie is being made because fans were begging for it for years, especially after the test footage that was leaked a few years ago. It is made because Reynolds is a geek himself and pushed for it. The studio wanted PG-13 rating but the fans forced it into rating R. This movie is one huge fanservice as of right now.
Agree overall, but the bolded is just common sense. It's like making a PG-13 Mortal Kombat movie, otherwise.

If only the world produced more Secrets of Kells and fewer Fast'n'Furiouses. I loved the movie, I literally paused at every frame to discover all the details that were lovingly placed there because artists behind SoK cared about about creating an actual movie rather than spamming LOOK I EM OLAF TEH TALKING SNOWMAN copy&pasta products.

I don't agree but I understand it. I'll never be a fan of superhero related stuff no matter how good they are (for example) Despite all the spandex it misses my fetish :D

Great. Watch Song of the Sea if you haven't. It's better than SoK :D

Checked, the Bluray is not out yet :( I know what you're thinking, what idiot buys movies in 2015 but they are generally cheap, for example I got Kells for 7eur :D And I surely enjoyed the extras
If I was in a better financial situation I'd surely have my own collection of 'best' movies. So I kinda get where you're pointing at.

However, Song of the Sea is really amazing and mind blowing. You should watch as there's even HD copy right now and totally go for it and when you officially fall in love with it, then you can buy bluray when it comes out. :D

That doesn't make much sense :D

Althrough if memory serves me right both MK movies weren't R rated , at least i don't remember them deserving that rating . That said those movies sucked .
