Asians dominating?

We are we looking for here, Voller? :D
They always go for diversity (usually overrepresentation of French directors though) so I wouldn't say that the Asians are dominating. Three in the main competition aren't that many.

The main competition is, obviously, the competition to follow even if Un Certain Regard, the competition for talents, sometimes have better films than a lot of those in the main competition (Force Majeure last year, for example).

The movies screened out of competition aren't necessarily in Cannes because they are good, but usually just for promotion (or sometimes if they didn't make it into the competitions). Having said that, Pixar's and Woody Allen's newest movies are always somewhat interesting to follow. :p

In the main competition, these are the five films I'm looking forward to the most:
1) Youth (the director of The Great Beauty)
2) The Lobster (the director of Dogtooth)
3) Sicaro (the director of Incendies, Prisoners, Enemy)
4) Louder Than Bombs (the director of Oslo, 31. august)
5) Dheepan (the director of A Prophet, Rust & Bone, The Beat That My Heart Skipped)

But obviously there are a lot of great filmmakers in the competition.

Caught up on Wolf of Wall Street - open pants mode. 3 hour movie took 5 hours to watch. After a number of disgusting products (can't call them movies) were forced upon me by my "friends" I did not expect anything at all, but Wolf was a pleasant surprise. Not the most original story but some original scenes and a suited cast. And Randy from My Name is Earl yeaaay
Totally missed it was directed by Scorsese, so there I opened wiki to research on the cameos and it hit me. In hindsight one could have recognized Scorcese's style but I was too busy approaching the movie in a sucky mood and expecting it to be terrible. How could I walk past the "I introduce my crew to the audience" scene, the "I am the king of the world and taunt the FBI" scene, the "meet my trophy wife" and "hysterical fight with my trophy wife" scenes, the "I get caught, make a deal and start over with a honest career" scene without identifying the Scorceseness.
