They have the essence of oldschool stuff. First two I mean.

Malena was just decent imo. Had it not been for her it would really suck.

No doubt about it, but Cinema Paradiso is just better imo. With The Legend of 1900 you get the feeling that it wasn't written by a native English speaker. Some of the dialogue is just too corny. But still, great movie.

Definitely duleable. But you shouldn't spread it over too many days imo. And it gets better and better.

Tornatore's dialogues were always uninspired and largely forgettable. All his films would have been much better with half-decent dialogue.
