I'm gonna watch Interstellar tonight. My expectations are high, epsecially since people here criticize it.

What are you talking about? Everyone here seems to like it.

It's a great movie for anyone fascinated by the Universe.

Piotrr calling it unrealistic is also not really true since that 99% of this movie was consulted with this guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kip_Thorne. Sure not everything is pure science but this is truer to the current state of our knowledge than any previous sci-fi movie.

Just because it's been supervised by a famous scientist doesn't mean it's 100% bulletproof in terms of plot (or even science). What Nzoric is talking about doesn't have anything to do with science. Regarding science, it's

basically impossible for a planet to be located where the time difference is so big that one hour equals seven years on earth. Does that make the movie bad? No, not at all.

Everytime people rate a new blockbuster here, I end up dissapointed. I haven't seen Nolan's older movies, but, from the new ones, I only rate 'The Dark Knight'.
I think 'Inception' is pretty bad.

Its a very intriguing and awing experience, even if you get dissapointed of the overall movie, you WILL be visually impressed and taken aback, thats guranteed almost.

I think 'Inception' is pretty bad.

I thought it was a great experience, but a flawed one. There are definitely things you'll be annoyed by, but at the same time it's a pretty overwhelming experience. I think it's better than The Dark Knight Rises and Inception.

Key word is overwhelmed, some moments are weak and flawed (I dont waste too much time analyzing it though, even if I mentionned the Matt Damon part), but as overall experience, you will find it awing/overwhelming experience. As said, its one of the only movies I ever seen in cinema where the whole audicence was insanely focused and silently captivated for 2 hours and 50 minutes.

I know the holes and I've been thinking about them a lot. I said it's not perfect but it's more scientific than any sci-fi movie before that .

the 23 years that passed on the water world is the weakest point imo, due to both not making much sense and bad editing. It seems like they are on the planet for 10-15 minutes and yet it must have been a few hours to make it 23 years.

The 5 dimensional scene was so Nolan and, imo, the most flawed scene (or maybe I understand nothing). The ending made sense after that, though.

I thought the movie would be more emotional and that disappointed me a bit.
Did anyone else predict the plot early on?

More emotional? I thought it was more than sufficiently emotional, and at times with Caine's character even too sentimental. How about when McConaughey watches the clip of his children aging?

Maybe it's because I was out in public, but stuff like that usually makes me cry. Cried like a little boy, when I watched the phone scene in 'Moon'.
I guess I expected to be more touched after the movie. Maybe it need to sink in. I think it might be better watching it a second time.
