I felt bad for telling you I'll watch it for months. So I decided to give it a go yesterday lol. I liked it as soon as it started cause I have a soft spot for story telling movies. I liked the fact that's an old school movie (especially the ending, that was a touch of art). Storyline was touching, acting was spot on with the two main characters and music was simply brilliant. Ennio Morricone is without a doubt number one when it comes to it, no wonder he's the one that insipires Hans Zimmer. That music gave a soul to the movie. I loved the duel as well. Simply a wonderful movie, too bad we don't see those nowadays, but some children crap and remakes.
Nice, I need to find a new movie to annoy you with.
But yeah, it's a shame that movies like this is a rarity these days. It does feel old-fashioned, even for a movie from 1999, but it doesn't feel outdated.

It's not a perfect movie (too many clichés), but it does have some perfect moments. The duel for sure, the floating piano, and of course the ending which is incredibly intense - even if it's just two people talking. It's hard to imagine you'd ever do the same as 1900, but his choice is still very relatable and understandable. There's something true in what he says.
Also, this scene is just a perfect example of pure magic:
And yeah, Morricone is a genius. You are going to listen to the soundtrack again, I'll promise you that.
