She was good. Movie itself was stupid as shit.
No man, it was a great movie. Well made, well written. It was recognized in two categories it deserved and then won best picture which is always a toss up. Unless it's a really bad movie year or something really stands out.

12 years a slave was really underwhelming. Sucj bullshit that you can get an oscar on behalf of the theme exclusively.
The academy does love a violent underdog movie.:agree:

Maybe but people make it sound like Di Caprio not winning Oscar after 4 nominations is something unbelievable when in fact it's nothing unheard of and in fact there is someone with even more nominations and no Oscars :p.

If he quit playing Howard Hughes every movie, might get somewhere. :D

A great movie? Lol. Sorry but seing black people being opressed for an hour and a half doesn't make for a great movie. The only great thing about the movie was Fassbender - who ironically enough didn't win the oscar he really deserved.

It's not that it's his fourth nomination, it's that he's been acting at a high level since he was a kid.

He's been pretty awesome lately, Mud, Lincoln Lawyer, the cameo in Wolf of Wall Street, Dallas Buyers Club etc.
Well deserved imo, still gotta feel for Leonardo though.

Well he was unlucky enough that other people also had fantastic roles in the same years. He had lost to Jammie Fox in Ray, to Forrest Whitaker in Last King of Scotland, to Christopher Waltz in Django and now to McConaughay. All great roles (didn't watch Dallas Buyers Club yet, but I assume it was great). There are other actors who deserve an Oscar but people in the Internet only make fuss about DiCaprio :p.

DiCaprio loses again.
Bale too, really... the guy is a pro. Even if his role wasn't necessarily up there among the other two last year.

Everyone is always talking about Di Caprio and his lost Oscars. Well this was his 4th. Meanwhile Amy Adams lost her 5th nomination today and nobody talks about that.
Good point.

3? It won best unoriginal screenplay, best supporting actress, and best picture (always debatable). Gravity won 7.
Gravity pretty much swept all the technical categories.

Where's Kanye saying, "I'mma let you finish..."?

No one cares about her. :D
Actually, I know a couple of lesbians who are really into her, if that means anything. ;)

It's a good film. McQueen gets better at his craft with every film.

He wasn't nominated for Django. It should have been his year in 2007, but he went with the wrong film.

Deservedly so.
