Firstly, the main plot of the movie and economic disaster that one individual created was brilliantly made and it was spread throughout the whole movie. It's sadly a (perfect) reflection of real life and its economic melt-down mainly coming from Wall Street, but in this case -- just in a minor observation.

The most interesting part - for me anyway - isn't just how the film shows everything that is wrong with society, but more the fact that we enjoy the trip. We laugh and we are jaloux of his lifestyle. Hell, we almost adore him. Only to realize, of course, that we shouldn't. And still, even after he gets convicted and goes to jail, he still finds people who are willing to buy his bullshit. Ultimately, we haven't learned anything.

Totally agreed, but only if that 'enjoy the trip' goes strictly for the movie, because I sure as hell do not enjoy this lol. But yea, you sum it up pretty well, the ending. How did you like it overall?

By "Enjoy the trip" I mean that we enjoy watching them do these crazy things. We aren't repelled by his actions and moral as much as we should be. I quite liked the movie in general, but I don't think it's a masterpiece. I'm really not sure how much I really like it to be honest. I need to watch it again. Probably around 8/10, I think.

Of course not - it's a movie.

But we are repelled in the end. The point is that deep down we know the whole thing is wrong all the way, but it is only when it is shoved in our face that we actually feel disgust against this person. We are manipulated into enjoying the ride just like Jordan is manipulating everyone around him.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - Pretty surprised by this one, turned out be a good movie.
This is turning out to be one of the best years for good movies in a while.

Rush should have been nominated.
It's difficult. It's a good movie but there's not special about it aside from Daniel Bruhl. It was made to appeal as large an audience as possible, the same thing did in The Butler.
