I've yet to watch either of those movies. I just can't see how they can compete with proper action movies from the 80's and 90's
Don't waste your time. Horrible acting, horrible one liners & even more horrible stunts. Stallone & Arnie look like plastic dolls that have been melted in a fire.

Bullet dodged in that case. I went to see 'The Last Stand' recently and it honestly saddened me to see Arnie so old. Still in decent shape for a man his age mind you.

I think I'm gonna throw on Predator now

Still have to see that one. Arnie & Stallone should call it a day, especially Stallone. He's really clutching at straws.

Maybe the consistency of my puke that hit the girl in front of me in the cinema was perfect. The ending of the film, however, wasn't. :D
Lol, that was almost a Badass worthy post.

I don't understand where this inherent hate of love stories comes from. The ending didn't feel forced, it didn't feel predictable. After they finished dancing you had no idea if they would save the restaurant, when his X appeared I had no idea if he would throw away his new relationship, if he would relapse or if he would stick with his new girl. The ending felt perfect to me, and I hate the patented romcoms more than the next guy.

Lol, as if I could ever come close to Badass' level.

First of all, I don't hate love stories. It wasn't predictable? You had no idea if he was going to stick with Lawrence's character? Are you freaking kidding me?

No, I'm absolutely serious. The first hour of the movie was so effective in disturbing any balance and calmness to the movie, making him seem completely random. I had no idea what he was going to pick. Especially since he pushed Lawrence's character out of the way after the dancing scene. Looked like a heartbreak moment to me.

Nah, but when we found out of the origin of the wife-letter, it kind of settled it all if there ever were any doubts. But the randomness slowly disappeared from the film, and towards the end the interesting elements were all long gone and instead O. Russell decided to play it safe.

Anyway, I don't really think the film is very interesting to talk about anyway. It was way too forgettable and unoriginal for that.

Foeller, why do you say predictability is a downside for Silver lining playbooks? The movie tells you indirectly (and rather obviously too IMO) in its first 15 minutes its basically going to end happy after they dance etc. They do that by the early scene where he is POed about Earnest Hemingway's type ending lol (this clip doesnt show ze whole bit about prefer a story to end in happy dance, but first part of ze sentiment is there):

Have been watching movies online this last couple of years but just decided to buy a shit load of Dvds so i can have some sort of collection for when i've no internet. I just bought ones i could think of off the top of my head and that where cheap. If anyone wants to recommend me more movies you think i would like going by the ones i have bought already i would be more than grateful :)

I never bothered buying most of my favourite movies as i've seen them too many times and there is no need.
here is the list so far:

An American Werewolf in London
American Psycho
The Lost Boys
Napoleon Dynamite
Natural Born Killers
The Crow
American Gangster
Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas
Donnie Brasco
Dawn Of The Dead (original)
Troll Hunter
Clerks II
Into the Wild
Donnie Darko
Apocalypto

I love having a dvd collection (currently 130 strong), they're so cheap to buy nowadays too. It's a pity HMV are gone now though, they had some really good deals
