Sorry, I didn't mean it that way. Just because you don't like intellectual movies, doesn't mean you can't be an intellectual person. Some people are watching movies to get a kick and some to get stimulated on an intellectual level. It all depends on why you watch movies.

Anyway, what movies does your friend like?

Intouchables is another pretty new movie that everyone loves. Le scaphandre et le papillon and Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain are also must sees.

If you want to dig into intellectual stuff, then Jean-Luc Godard, François Truffaut, Robert Bresson and Jean Renoir are the way to go, but most people usually find those directors boring.

I haven't watched Amour either. I really don't want to download it, but it might be the only option for me if I want to see it anytime soon, since I don't understand French and I'm not in a country right now where I fully understand the subtitles.

Intouchables is a great film though. Very tough not to enjoy.

Django was better than expected to be honest. It wasn't the mess that Inglourios Basterds was, and Tarantino didn't waste a lot of time on unnecessary scenes. The acting was good and the characters were interesting. The plot wasn't exactly anything new, but it was interesting to see Tarantino's vision on the western genre. It wasn't perfect at all, and especially the ending was a bit forced, but overall it was an enjoyable experience.

Yeah, you'll be very disappointed then. Tarantino is Tarantino, and the violence is very graphic, and there are loads of it. If you don't like violence, this is the movie to avoid.

No, it's much worse than that. It's a movie about slaves. Think about the worst possible thing a white racist could do to a black slave. Those things are in there. There are a lot of very physical stuff,

especially a fight with two black slaves battling against each other with the bare hands to death is very violent.

Believe me, the girl in front of me did everything possible to look away.

No, it's much worse than that. It's a movie about slaves. Think about the worst possible thing a white racist could do to a black slave. Those things are in there.
