La Meglio Gioventu' -
With a runtime of 6 hours, there was always the risk that this would turn out to be an endurance test more than anything else. But it's really not. Hell, the last hour or so literally flew by.
This is just a beautiful film about (the history of) a beautiful, but very flawed, country. Loved how they touched upon so many important events, (in)directly relating them to the main characters. Quite a few very powerful scenes.
Some of the supporting actors (those in really small roles) were a bit iffy, but that's really my only complaint. Will definitely watch this again at some point.
A sense of humour at times as well: "E comunque ... comunque!"
