Many people likely do it just to say they did it. Or they actually enjoy it...
I wonder what could be enjoyable about that. It didn't seem to be going anywhere to me.
I don't think anyone enjoys it, IMO that's the whole point. It's an allegory of fascist Italy after all. And a lot of it probably applies to this day, in light of Berlusconi and his bunga bunga parties.

A good in depth read on Pasolini and Salo

I know what the point of the movie is but we don't need to see the movie to understand what it's about; we can just read that long review :D You also watch a movie for entertainment, and that is not enjoyable.

Not sure if i'm following you, are you saying that a movie's existence is justified only if it creates a positive feeling, a catharsis? But if it unsettles, confuses or challenges your view's, it isn't?

No, I'm saying that there is no reason for me to watch it if the only point of it is to illustrate what the wealthy elite in fascist Italy could get away with. Okay, I read it, now I don't need to see it.

Maybe there's something more to it that I would have seen had I watched on further, I don't know.

    That's the Duhamel, he's a babe.
was posting on the previous page by accident, oops.

Just finished watching 'Monsters', trying to make up my mind whether or not this was a ridiculously boring movie, or maybe I was expecting it to be an all-out action movie.

Still, gotta give credit to the makers of the film though, for the small budget they had they did a good job on the special effects.
