So I finally saw The King's Speech. The wife loved it. I thought it was pretty good, albeit not one of the favorites I've seen this year. Heck, I even liked Nordwand better.
Good question. I spend more of my days watching older movies than newer ones. Nordwand was from 2008, and that's new to me. I am worn out on the garbage Hollywood fare and tend to a lot of foreign flicks. I'd have to think about this.
I've just seen the movie Its Kind of a Funny Story and I have to say it impressed me. Quite unknown title, atleast I hadn't heard from it, but it was actually a nice film to watch, I would recommended to watch it.
i seen that in the cinema, excellent film. there is actually a few good films from Ze Germanz in the last few years, The Wave was pretty good,Bader-Meinhof complex was interesting (but a bit long) and also The Lives of Others
oh and check out Funny Games (the Austrian original, not the Hollywood remake)

Black Swan: I'm a big fan of Aronofsky films. Black Swan was brilliant. The cinematography it uses (especially in the Black Swan play performed by Nina) was tremendous. Natalie Portman was also really very good.
Sometimes you do feel like watching a lame movie or two... You don't have to use your brain a bit and even if you fell asleep, you don't miss anything...
Watched Up one more time. Really good movie that. Good background score too...
