I can have a pretty decent conv. in Arabic now, as long as one does not use a lot of high-class vocab.

went to a British school that didn't teach Arabic, same thing in High School,and univ. in the US, so never got to learn it.

And that's what I've been arguing about for fuckin 5 years now. What's the point of living in an Arabian College/School where Arabic language isn't even considered as a 2nd language but rather as a collective course.

But respect for you Ahmed to go out for learning the language and take all the effort on your own.

I lived in Yemen for 1.5 years as a little kid, got fluent in the language, didnt go to real school for arabic, except few basic stuff, but essentially learned it by living there (ofcourse I forgotten most now since that was like 16-17 years ago).
