Lol wtf, how can you live in a arabic country all your life and NOT learn arabic?

I lived in Yemen for 1.5 years as a little kid, got fluent in the language, didnt go to real school for arabic, except few basic stuff, but essentially learned it by living there (ofcourse I forgotten most now since that was like 16-17 years ago).

But Yemen is so much of a different case IMO, there you have to speak Arabic in order to get along with the surroundings, people..etc. Yet in the U.A.E and that goes for almost every Arab country now that Arabic is being disregarded while a 2nd language is taking its place whether that language is English, French and even Urdu.

And you can never really forget a language, you just need the right circumstances that gets those words outta your mouth

From what I've studied Somalia is pretty diverse. You've got Arabs, Africans, and those that have traits that resemble both. Is that correct?

Somalia is more or less least diverse country in Africa, pretty homogenous as heck. But yeah, there is a slight minority that stand out yeah.

WTF are you talking about Osman!

Egyptians, Libyans, Moroccans, Algerians,...etc. Are all african countries yet they are all Arab ones too. Somalia have many languages and is kinda the same situation as that of Sudan but still Arabic is widely spoken there despite having many other local languages too. But Arabic in its correct form (fluent Arabic if I may say) is what is fully understood there. And yes you're right, Islam had much to do with that.

Umm, you realize you are telling a Somali that Somalia has many languages and is like Sudan in the diversity of its people? (Sudan who is biggiest country in Africa, and largely has tons of issues due to have diverse it is).

Sudan is an Arabic country (arabic speaking country, arabs in cultural and linguistic way, but necessarily ethnic wise, even if partly)), albeit by force to several degrees. But Somalia isnt. Its the total opposite of Sudan (who has 400 different ethnic languages with arabic being official one, plus 600 different ethnic tribes etc).

Weird, but you acheived the impossible of likening two very opposite examples, because Somalia in comparison has 1 ethnic people, simply put Somalis, 90% of the country (rest are very minor obsecure foreign ethnicities from neighbouring countries, mainly Ethopia, but also few arabs, indians etc). And no suprise, Somali is only language really spoken, arabic is language taught due to religion or education, but not a language widely spoken at all.

I've never said they weren't. Yet many Somalis are Arabs, not all of them thought.

Its somewhat like the case of Christians in Arab countries, they're considered Arab despite the fact that most of them came during the Crusades era and settled here and learned the language thus making them Arabs despite their ethnic group being European.

Wait, Are you denying the fact that Somalia is in fact an Arabian country?

As for the ethnic comparability, this means nothing. As there's no such thing as pure Arabian anymore. Arabians where the Bados living in the so called Gulf area nowadays and then they spread into many parts of the world spreading the Islamic religion and Arabic language along the way. So even non Arabian parts at that era such as Iraq that was part of the Persian empire and Jordan,Syria and Palestine being part of the Roman Empire. Became Arabian and are now recognized as such.

As for you saying that Somali language is the most used in Somalia, Im gonna guide you back to the North part of Africa, as in Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco where French was during many times the most used language in those countries yet that didn't mean for a second that they were declined from their Arabian Identity.
