I liked The Usual Suspects but I don't really think it's great. The whole story line was kinda...I don't know, boring and not exciting? The ending made it look better, otherwise it would've been average at best so I wouldn't 'hail' it so much because of it.

7.5/10 IMO

I thought I loved the movie when it got finished. It was twisting as hell and people normally love it when they are like :wth: at the end of such movies but watching The Usual Suspects for the second time, I didn't like it as much as the first time. Not that I don't like movies with twisted plots or twisted finales but I got the impression that this movie had only one purpose which was to have the audience shocked in the end of the movie. It was sure fun to watch and I enjoyed it a lot but IMO, it had nothing much to say/do rather than misleading those who watch it in any way possible.
Pretty much the same can be said about The Game.

Correct, but that's what makes it so great for me. The entire plot is built around this "absent" character which may or may not exist & the execution of it all is quite brilliant. As great as the ending is, to me that's only a bonus.

Watched quite a few movies myself the last few days, let's see what I can remember.

Mr Magorium's Wonder Emporium - Ok for a kid flick & some nice ideas. After a while (when the plot needs to be resolved) it gets rather boring though. But there are of course worse things than looking at Natalie Portman for 90 minutes.

Catch & Release - Reasonably enjoyable rom com. The beautiful Jennifer Garner does an amazing job carrying this one.

Seven Pounds - Will Smith was great (as usual), but I expected a bit more from the movie. Not as gripping as you'd imagine.

The Darjeeling Ltd - Typical, quirkie Wes Anderson movie. Great watch, truly enjoyable & some jaw dropping scenes.

RocknRolla - Decent movie & some great individual scenes, but how many times is Guy Ritchie going to make the exact same movie?

Man on Fire - I havent watched this movie for so long and i watched it two days ago. I have forgoten how good this movie is. Denzels and Dakotas performances are awesome (as always). The story is awesome, and throughout the whole movie your heart is pumping from excitement. Love it.

Inglorious Bastards - Watched it last night with my cousin for the first time and i have to tell you that this movie is great. Pitt's performance is probably one of his bests so far. The story, the realism in the movie, the "Tarantino" touch of brilliance its all put together very nicely. People may have a problem with how the movie ends since the story in this movie is fictional and its no where near to what have actually happened in WW II.

Mr and Mrs Smith - I watched this movie three days ago for the first time and it was nothing special for me. I mean, the story is OK, the action is great but i really hate movies with Angelina Jolie in them (Except "Gone in 60 seconds")

When did you figure out Kaiser Sose?
My first thought came to my head when he was at the police station, at the beginning but I dropped it.

But it's not just that, story line was kinda weak and the ending just made it worth of watching imo.

Maybe, maybe not, i dont have any special oppinion about it. I just watched it, so i can say i have watched it, if you know what i mean. Like i said the only good thing in the whole movie, for me, its the action. It may be bellow average, but its deffinetly not a waste of time to watch it.

I thought it was a poor film.
i had this exact argument out with elvin when i saw it, i agree with you. A lot better than i expected, just not a v good film.
What do you guys think about his other films?

Clerks & Chasing Amy are among my favourite comedies ever. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen any of his stuff that I really disliked, even though some of his films are obviously not that great.
