I saw Lords Of Dogtown a couple of days ago. It was a really good film, its the story behind the Z Boys, who invented modern skateboarding. I got a lot of nostalgia from it because all of my mates were skaters and i recognised a lot of what was going on as stuff that me and my mates got up to. It was the film that turned Heath Ledger into a serious actor after his flirting with Teen films and A Knights Tale.

I also watched The Wrestler finally. It is a beautiful film with some Mickeys finest acting (although he is more or less playing himself), quite brutal at times but im glad i bought it.

Lords of Dogtown is indeed quite good. That one was a pleasant surprise for me, I especially recall the acting being top notch.

Haven't seen The Wrestler yet, but will do so quite soon. Borrowed the DVD from a friend of mine.

I think its an extremely poignant social commentary on how society uses performers and the pyschological sydromes that can be produced. Mickey Rourkes Character is someone that has lost touch with reality, to the point where he cant feel alive by not being in a performance where as Marisa Tomei's character has her life in order and uses the performance aspect of her life to increase the life of her private life, and has clear lines. Mickeys character cannot do that which is where his downfall is.

Mesrine - L'instinct de mort & L'ennemi public n°1 - Best Gangster movies i've seen in a long time. Vincent Cassell is one of the best in the world right now.
thanks for recommending this one, Osman :)

Every town
Has its ups and down
Sometime ups
Outnumber the downs
But not in Nottingham
I'm inclined to believe
If we were so down
We'd up and leave
We'd up and fly if we had wings for flyin'
Can't you see the tears we're cryin'?
Can't there be some happiness for me?
Not in Nottingham
