Yeah they are in their own subspace of awful, but you get the point, thats the true essence of awful. Its severely miss using the word awful when Training day is called that.
You know what was real real awful, as not not just semi shitty, or below average entertainment, but fail at basically every other scene big time awful, of recent flicks. Max Payne.

Overrated, not liking it etc, I understand, even if I can disagree (it depends on what you mean with overrated, think its a good flick, nothing more, bit too hyped due to Denzel). But exaggeration like awful just seems misplaced and bit too strong, as in one can find tons of movies thats considerably worse then it, what would one call them, hehe .
I know you would say that before even I typed the above 
I dont give the Oscars much cred in general, but there is Uwe Boll/and tons of other crap awful, and there is a Movie that gets 13 Oscar nominations and wins 1 kinda awful, doesnt fit I get calling it overrated, but awful would tend to speak of unbearably bad.

I like Nick Cage But yeah, he has done alot of awful acting, no fuss quick bucks kinda actor, because he shown has some reasonable acting ability at times. And except lately, it hasnt mattered the level of acting he has held, because of the type of movies and role he done (frivilous entertainment), genre flicks, generally likable that one doesnt analylize, he has his niche.
