no man, asian cinema is good, kurosawa is prolly the best director ever. Anyways, you sound like another dule/fred so i wont bother :p
Don't be like that, I don't have crappy taste in movies. The limited amount of Asian movies I've seen just didn't do much for me. The only one I really liked was 13 assassins.

When you get a bad start into a type of movies, it's hard to keep going and look for more/better movies. One of my friends who is a huge fan of Asian movies recommended me Lady Vengeance, I just don't get the "magic"

There is no magic, just movies from another part of the world, with ok, average, decent, good and great movies. Just up to you to discover them (and they are worth discovering, because its interesting getting a peak from world/societies one isnt too privy about). I seen lots of them in all kinds of genres (except horror ones...), dont need to be magical, just worth watching. Easiest ones to start with are gangster movies, some good choices. Like the one this scene is from:D

No, just like the badassery :D For example above movie is a good crime drama, that scene is like 1 of 2 action scenes in it. More impactful that way.

I could link you this scene from Oldboy and I bet some would think its action movie hehe (when its a fucked up and gritty psychological piece of a movie):
