Colombiana - What great movie, i expected it to be an okay movie but it was brilliantly directed IMO. Was hooked throughout the movie & it maintained an excellent tempo. Some awesome actions scenes, the only let down was the ending. One would expect the bad guy to take the brunt of the punishment & die in the worst way possible. Zoe Saldana was amazing in this movie, super sexy.
Seriously, in what way was Colombiana close to great? Little girl was badass (would been cool if was longer on her), and it was a decent debute for Soldana as action actress (bit forced at times), but other then that it was a rather routine/cliche action thriller, relied heavily on your run of the mill action scenes, with little else to redeem it.
It wasn't her debut as an action actress, lead role yes. She played a tough role in the losers. It's merely an opinion Osman, no need to get all hot & bothered over it. Please do go ahead & watch Valhalla Rising, just to prove how wrong my reviews are. I beg you to watch it & tell me with a straight face that you enjoyed it.
I watched The Losers, her role there was bit of a joke (hotell scene basically was it), but yeah I meant as a lead action heroine. Or her being a lead actress in general was new to her in this movie. All in all, a movie I saw because of Luc Besson, and it was far from great. Funny you are so butthurt when I wonder just what was great about it 
The directing was good as i mentioned, the tempo was maintained throughout the movie, whereas a lot of action movies tend to have a good intro & fizzle out between the middle or end of the movie. I'm not butthurt Osman, i'm just lawlling big time because you're gonna give up valuable time to watch Valhalla Rising.
Dude I watched 10 seasons of Smallville, my time isnt that precious lol.
Judge things for what they are, but pretty much watch anything thats basic storytelling entertainment (movies/series) if I'm bored enough (today watched the last Airbender movie lol), if its an element that interests me (Smallville's case superheroes, in Vallhalla's case, Vikings/historical setting, plus Mads Mikkelsen). So Colombiana when I watched it was entertaining enough for me, just not a great movie, thats all.
