Shockingly bad movie.
'Gone Girl' was very bad, but I thought that was mainly due to the book, which was atrocious. Obviously, the acting didn't help, as Pike and Affleck were as good as you can expect them to be.

Anywho:
- Jeff Cronenweth wasn't working with Fincher on this one, and IMO it shows; most of the time, each scene is like a painting, but this time there is nothing remarkable about them,
- It feels like a movie that tries to encapsulate the spirit of "Day of the Jackal," but at times, it tries to be a dark comedy; IMO it does not deliver in either aspect,
- I'm a big fan of the early "Hitman" games, and I felt like I was watching a walkthrough of certain missions on YouTube; everything seemed so disjointed,
- The scene with Tilda Swinton and especially the old-as-dirt joke about the bear is icing on the cake; I felt second-hand embarrassment watching that, everything about this scene was painful, and that includes acting. Tilda Swinton was horrendous,

The scene where with Fassbender and taxi driver took me by surprise, and I liked this one a lot.
The biggest sin, though, is that it wasn't engaging in any particular way.

I can't believe I"m saying that as I'm a big fan of Fincher and truly believe "Zodiac" is the best serial-killer movie ever but everything about "The Killer" screams dollar basket bin in Wallmart.

Ffs seriously? I thought it was a week or two away too.

There's 2-3 major projects pushed back to next year. Big Cinema bussiness is suffering lately and these companies keep delaying the finished projects for some magical opportune window to make most amount of money back.

Yeah, the release has been postponed due to the ongoing strike by Hollywood actors, which has impacted the movie's promotion. I expect also Napoleon movie will be postponed.

I love David Fincher movies and i agree about Zodiac... but I actually enjoyed this movie.

The funny thing is I didn't know it was directed by David Fincher until after it had ended and read the Wikipedia page. I guess that proves your point.

Still I really enjoyed it. Reminded me of movies like American Psycho ( the narration and his attention to detail) with a hint of Dexter, Taxi Driver , Drive and John Wick. I enjoyed the dark humour. Without giving away spoilers I don't think his motives throughout the movie were exactly what the average audience may think they are.

Soundtrack was great too. Should of known it was Trent Reznor behind it and then I guess it of made more links to David Fincher directing.

Also I can't stand Tilda Swinton everything she does is pretentious and cringe. Lucky enough she wasn't in the movie more than 10mins.

After losing his parents, a priest travels to China, where he inherits a mysterious ability that allows him to turn into a dinosaur. At first horrified by this new power, a hooker convinces him to use it to fight crime. And ninjas.

Would you watch it?
