The Revenant was totally worth the wait to see on Cinema while most I know were mumbling about the movie they saw in low res torrents (mumbling because I didnt want any spoilers). 2 hours and 36 minutes and it was so captivatingly beautiful grim world that my father said man why did it have to finish, was expecting to see bit more of this tragic survivor, not for the story itself (which was bit thin but its fine), but just the slice of fucked up life that was shown us. Transported you to that cold wilderness in every way. 100% winning best cinematography without even needing to see the competition.

Why is it too bad? He did very well. Pulled off a suffering vengeance driven father going all primal just to keep breathing to do only thing left that matters to him.

What hype? The poor guy is more like mocked for not winning every year lol. Even the usher in the cinema was saying when introducing the movie lets hope the Oscars just give it to him this time so we can stop hearing about it (jokes or the constant reminder he never wins).
