How is it that a person can be banned and not know what for ?

Surely if someone is banned they should be shown the offending posts and it be explained to them why it was inappropriate...

This lack of clarity seems all too common when people are banned and is ridiculously bad moderating...

If someone isnt told why they were banned how are they meant to adjust their behaviour on their return....

does make a bit of a mockery of the system doesn't it. We could probably do with a new mod since the best one gray is never around, and the pres doesn't appear to actually do any moderating

Best case scenario would be that I get appointed.

We had the same problem when Claire was banned...time after time.

snoop personal insults are thr norm on these forums - I've had more than my fair share and nobody's ever been banned for them. If people want to believe in a set religion then fine but they shouldn't be exempt from criticism or piss taking imo because these forums are a medium for people to air their views, however right/left wing they may be.

The only times when piss taking goes too far is when its against things that can't be helped - ie sexism racism ageism, taking the piss because of illness genetic defect or whatever - that is of course wrong and should be met with a ban.

Religion is neither here nor there, it enjoys a ridiculous level of protection and importance, not only on here but in the real world as well. If people like tifoso lou are allowed to thrust their condescending self righteous and downright patronising opinions on non-believers then we are allowed to do the same
I agree with you Tom, all the critics are welcomed, you can bash the religion,no one can stop you for that, but the thing is,he turns it to personal insults,Like "Fuck yourself in the ass, axlrose, I demand it!" do you see that as a critic Tom,he is insulting the person because he is on the other side of the argument.he does the same way on other topics also,I don't want to sound that I have something against him.

Not a personal insult, my dear friend. All I did was prove that I COULD BE god. For all I know, you haven't exactly proved that I'm not. As for the demand for assfucking: if axl didn't believe I was God, he obviously didn't have to do so. Or are you saying Axl HAD to fuck himself in the ass because he had to believe I was God? Now now, let's give the guy some credit.

yeah I can see that. If taken out of context, "fuck yourself in the ass, axlrose" is fairly blatantly a personal insult and should merit a stern warning from a moderator, then a ban for re-offence. Reading the whole post though its pretty obvious its just a joke, not an insult :)

Yeah I've heard that in the past, don't know that he's said it recently. Its only sufficient imo if he himself starts moderating and gray returns.

And to be even more correct: "fuck yourself in the ass axlrose, I demand it" could never be a personal insult, because I can demand whatever I want, that doesn't mean he has to do so.

Well I assume its at the present as well because Graham was not around much shortly after the takeover...not much difference from July and now really..
