Of course I selectively didn't mention Aguero, he's the only one who could possibly do what you meant.

Vargas and Bastos are in the same level as Vucinic and Vidal, that's what I found funny in your post. And no, we don't badly need a real LW.
LW is one of the most important positions we need to fill and has been for two seasons - any simpleton can see that

I'll put it this way: we don't really need LWs like Bastos or Vargas.

I like Vargas and wouldn't mind to have him, but I'd rather have a creative force in our left flank at this point. I love to see players like Vargas and Bastos as FBs in a 4-3-3 where they have all the flank given to them, but I kinda dislike them in the midfield... mainly with Krasic in the other side.

OK, I have changed my mind regarding Mirko and I do believe he would be a great fit for the SS position or on the left of a 4-3-3. But if he's signed to play on the left in the 4-4-2 I'm underwhelmed.

Anyway, Vargas and Lugano and were done.

Considering the current Juve team, I actually think Quag is a better fit for a LW in the 4-2-4 than Vucinic, who, I think would be a better choice to partner Matri up front.

I still think you'd sign a proper LW, though - Vargas, Bastos, etc.

I think we will too. Vucinic might still play on the wing if that starting player is injured though.

I'm sure he'd do better than the competition for 2nd choice LW.

Man, 2-3 buys like Vucinic and Vidal (two for the defense and one in midfield) and I'll be sure that we'll win the 3rd place. One surprise big signing in late August and...well, I can dream for more than 3rd place. We will have an ok bench, we play one competition. We could do something nice. :)
You mean Bastos, Lugano and LB (Vargas?) What makes you think that we will have so much money after the Vucinic deal?

The problem with this 4-2-4 line up, is that as we will defend, the wingers return and defend along with Pirlo's partner (as he only marks with his eyes)
and it actually turns into 4-4-2.
On the right we have Krasis and Pepe, who are not teri-bad on that, because they are not forwards, wingers are midfielders and midfielders can defend, a bit...
Whilst Vucinic and Martinez cannot! At all...

Neither our offensive minded fullbacks => we are bound to concede many more goals than we did last year = lose our positive thinking and moral = force the coach to drop the 4-2-4 = bench more forwards and use more players out of position = acute loss of efficiency and frustration among the players ranks => FAIL

We have seen that happening so many times, in the past years, but we have learned nothing...
(unless we still have 35-45 more mil to spend and buy players for the holes we have systematically neglected)

I really wanted us to sign Vucinic in January, however it doesn't look as that great of a move to me now. might be bc of all the WC/Champion BS we heard at the start of the mercato.
Still ADP/Quag/Matri/Vucinic is an alright striking force, on paper atleast.

Now our next move

Zarate - Vucinic -Quag - Krasic :tuttosport:

Ziegler isn't offensive minded at all and Licht gets into position pretty quick. I definitely think the defense has gotten better compared to last year but we'll have to wait and see how it unfolds.

He's not the guy we should be looking for if we want a LM/LW for 4-4-2/4-2-4. I would welcome him with open arms if he is going to be played as a SS which seems likely.

Does Mirko signing rules out any other SS coming because i did read earlier that we would still go for Mirko even if Aguero or Rossi signs for us, now that both of them are not available, are we aiming for another SS instead?

Really not that great compared to Milan, Inter :)cry: if they get Tevez), Napoli and probably Fiorentina (if Vargas stays & Cassano goes there). We would probably be on par or a little better than Roma & Lazio.

Sell some SS perhaps? (Iaquinta, Amauri, Quaq)
Zarate??? Pls God nooooo, yet another mediocre SS?? What do we intend to do with all these, are we gonna field a team with SSs and CMs only??

Considering Motta and Grosso/Traore, it def did, but the defense is not as exposed in 4-4-2 as it is in 4-2-4
In 4-4-2, this defense will look much more solid, but if Ziegler for ex, relies on Vucinic and Pirlo to help him defend our left flank... you can imagine what will happen...
